Has someone ever tried to make you angry before and you keep smiling jokingly to everything he does.
Have a friend done something bad to you before, but because you know him or her, you decide to overlook it. But if an outsider should do same, you will pound on him or her like a hungry lion.
Now that's you allowing yourself to get angry and not get angry sub consciously.
No one can make you sad except you allow it. As human beings, we have been given the power to control our emotions. The ability to love, hate, be happy and be sad is all under our control.
Someone can be doing something really annoying to oppress you, but its you that will decide if you really want to be oppressed. Either by reasoning what the person have been doing or saying or by ignoring him/her with a choice to be happy.

One thing about life is that people will always talk. You cant shut their mouths. And in this talks will be rumors, criticism and insult. These are meant to make you sad and pull you down emotionally but your ability to ignore, learn from mistakes and improve yourself makes you a better person.
Even Jesus Christ who happens to be the most righteous man on earth has enemies, then who are you ?
There will always be enemies out to take you down, there will be actions to make you sad but why will you be sad if you don't want to?
You only become sad when you give in to every negative thing they say. But when you ignore and learn from their criticism, you become a better person. You will even be taking advantage of their negative words because they will serve as a stepping stone to your improvement.
Always smile and be happy, even health said that people that smile always stay younger and fresh. Don't deny yourself that amazing look because of what someone is doing or saying. You are under control .. Now act like a king.
