On 23 January, I got around 20 DMS related to my well-being from hivers! What was the issue and why all hivers were worried about my well-being?
One particular dm included this tweet link:
This is clear that everyone was worried about me cause of over-hyped news. It made me blush how Pakistan reminded them of me first. Was it too bad? What was the ground reality and what about me? Let's uncover these questions in this blog.
So, let's go back a bit to 19 Jan:
What did you notice? For maintenance, electricity was unavailable for around 10 hours. For someone who survived 10 hours without electricity, 24 hours is not a big deal when they are used to it.
Was this the first blackout in Pakistan's history? Obviously not!
Around 2 years ago, on 10 Jan 2021, Junaid Akram, a Pakistani comedian posted about the blackout:
Here you can see we had a blackout before in the history of Pakistan too. This was not the first blackout. We have much more serious issues in Pakistan compared to more than 24 hours of blackout.
I had written a few blogs about some issues. I know it might not be this serious or haven't gotten any attention like blackout but it will give you a general idea about some of the Pakistani issues:

I know you all guys were worried but I am suggesting you to stay calm by saying my Nation is used to the ROUGH and TOUGH situations! That brings us to the question how was my BLACKOUT day? Was it me worrying about "the sky is falling"? How was my day spent in the blackout?
Blackout happened between 23 to 24 Jan. On 23rd Jan in after afternoon, we were preparing for our exams. We knew it is a situation which doesn't disturb our normal life routine (no chance of the exam being rescheduled). Our University remains open even in regular conditions and we are allowed to come and study in the library. Our own home had power backup UPS (Universal Power Supply) and our University also had power backup by generators (runs on Petrol). We prepared for our Ethical Engineering exam and came back home to sleep. Similarly, our exam was around 12 in the afternoon so we went to university early around 8 for revision.
Another alternative would be to photocopy our notes and study just with any source of light (for worse conditions). So you see how we gave exam even when we had a blackout? This is the reality of LIFE! :)
After the exam, we knew electricity might still not be available in our homes although the blackout ended so we planned to eat out for relaxation from exam and blackout stress (stress is not a common word in Pakistan, as mentioned in the previous referred blogs mental health issues are not commonly discussed).

CLOSING THOUGHTS:
What you saw or read was to bring your attention to reality without filtered news from any giant media companies. Yes, Pakistan does have problems to deal with but it is also true that our nation is prepared to adjust to difficult situations. Unfortunately, we live in a different environment which might be bad for living standards but also prepare us to be rough and tough. Because of these day-to-day living conditions, Pakistanis can be more competitive to meet deadlines or work extra hours. We do get mental stress or maybe a continuous state of stress or depression but this makes us stronger too. On one hand, we can see it in a negative light but from another perspective, it can be seen as a training environment that prepares us to adapt to anything life throws at us.
