According to the local people in Kon Plong district, in the spring, the sound of the babbling bird signals the farming season to prepare for the new rice sowing season. Here, the locals only grow one rice crop a year, even though a rice crop lasts only 3 months. Unlike many other places in Vietnam, people usually grow two rice crops a year. I asked them why, and they honestly replied that they grow one rice crop, which is enough for a year.
At this time of year, after celebrating the Lunar New Year, the locals usually start plowing the fields after a long time of "soaking the fields". "Soaking the field" is letting water from the hills flow into the field, and letting the water drain out at the lower edge of the field. The purpose of this is to accumulate alluvium for the new rice crop.
For families with buffalo, they use buffalo to plow the field, and for families with agricultural machinery, they use them to plow the field. The purpose of this is to help loosen the soil before planting a new rice crop. At this time, people gather on the rice fields, creating a bustling atmosphere.
It is so peaceful and refreshing to take a walk around the rice fields. People here may not know that they are living in a very beautiful and poetic area with rice fields, winding rivers, buffaloes in the grasslands, small wooden houses and wild orchids. . Everything creates a poetic landscape.
Despite the hard and needy life, the local people here live in a very beautiful and peaceful place. Through my photos, you also see the beauty of this place. Thank you for taking the time to read my post and have a nice day.
