The lady with the lavender Eyes

I finished this piece in digital oil and pastel. I am calling it done, tho the background is rough. I love to paint in details and give an almost 19th century portrait quality to a piece, leaving the background vague.

You might recall my post the other day about this piece when it was just a study.

and added some watercolour wash to play with color ideas:

I always enjoy painting ladies faces and it's been awhile since I've just indulged in that. I often default to animals, but with ladies and garden/plants/flowers the strong second contender. Often they all share the same world in a finished painting.

**This year, however, I'm following my passion to paint and draw what I feel Drawn too in the moment. And this month I've rather felt like making a few pieces of ladies faces staring out into the vast world with the focus on the eyes and expression.

In a way it's not unlike my Singularity series in that they have a touch of 'electronic otherworldliness' if that is a term, well it is now as I've just typed it.

Here is an old post of one of my Singularity pieces.

However, this lady only has a breath of some possible 'electronic history' about her in her piercing lavender eyes.

I've yet to decide How I'd like to do the graphic design for these pieces on things. Surely as prints and posters they'll be lovely, but I think with some graphic framing or pattern they might be lovely on phone cases, bags and the like.

I hope you enjoy my lady and my indulgence in this year's desire to just Paint what I like and feel in the moment.

Do you find yourself sticking to your 'style' or list when in the studio or at your favorite hobby or creative job? Do you think the freedom of various styles and experiments are good for an aritst, or do you think they muddy the waters of their 'brand'? I hate that term, by the way, 'your brand' always makes me think of cattle.

I hope you find a moment in your day to indulge in your passion, whatever that might be and remember to stay creative!
