Remember one time I posted that I had a few collaborations that I was preparing for fashion week.
This was one of them but he had an emergency so he was out of the state for a while so we could not execute the fashion week plan with this particular outfit.
When he got back I was like yeah “let us make this a photo shoot instead, it sounds like a good idea to me” and he was like “sure just give me the time and place and I'll come through”.
I started making the squares a lonnnnnng [see the emphasis on the long yeah that's how long it was] out of all the collaboration fits it was the first one I started.
But when he said that he was traveling I had to drop it and tackle something more pressing and I only got back to it after he informed me he'll be back in a few days.
In the beginning yeah i took his measurement and all that so that's what I was working with. I think I did a total of… wait hold in let me calculate 8 for each sleeve, that's 16 for both sleeves. 24 for the back, that means 48 for back and front giving me a total of 64 squares.
It was a lot to meet up with but over time all the squares were ready and I had some help with putting the patches together.
I had to frog it a few times but we soon got our end product. The one we had in mind that is. The way it was por together was one back panel two for the front and two for each of the sleeves
Did the final piece and I put it all together. It came out beautifully buttttt there was a fitting to be done before concluding and finishing it up.
When he tried it, it turned out he had shredded more like lost fat so I had to alter the fit to be his size.
I took out 26 squares from the length of the shirt and then 8 from each of the sleeves to shorten it.
When I finished we had another fitting and it was just perfect. I only needed to block so the outfit can fully relax and not stand like some action figure's cape 😅😅
Fast forward to shoot day. I was feeling weird I think. It was first shoot for my brand so I didn't exactly know how to work it out but then my photographer helped out a lot and in no time I was calm and collected
I got to pick the ones I wanted to be edited and these are the final results.
I feel so proud of myself and my brand. We've come a long wayyyy.
Things I used to make this:
4.0 mm hook
Stitch markers
12 40g yarn
Measurement tape
Ps: these pictures belong to me and we’re taken with my mobile device.
