I was checking out the latest news about AEW Dynamite and my God, it’s as if Armageddon is upon them.
Ratings took a dip to their lowest in years.
Did you believe that? Only 747,000 viewers and a 0.23 rating for 18-49-year-olds. All that for a fall from grace they never saw coming.
I remember when AEW was an inferno making large numbers and keeping fans excited every week. Now, however, something seems missing. It’s painful to watch them struggle like this especially after all the buzz about signing wrestlers like Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, and Mercedes Mone.
What is happening behind the scenes? Is it the plotlines? Are it matches? Perhaps program timing? They should resolve this as soon as possible. I mean, Tony Khan couldn’t have expected this from AEW’s dynasty run.
Are the fans getting bored too? It’s kind of sad to think that folks may be turning off because the show isn’t giving them what they want anymore.
And it’s not just viewership figures — even demo rating is at its lowest since October 2021. That’s been a long time of hardship.
I wonder whether there will be a major announcement to change the tide. Perhaps they may introduce some new signings or storylines that could shake things up. Oh, and what about John Moxley?
Is he planning to return soon? I am certain many enthusiasts are eagerly looking forward to it.
And don't even start me on MJF and The Blade. It’s bewildering not knowing what is happening with them. Are they unwell? On leave? Who can tell?
In general, this is a difficult period for AEW. Nevertheless, I expect that they will manage to rise again someday.
They have a talented roster and a solid fanbase; hence, I am supporting their quick recovery from the crisis.
After all, wrestling is at its best when there’s competition and excitement; AEW has the potential of delivering on both fronts
