Vain Attempt?

in #hive-1200352 years ago

I'm trying all the things I can to get my photos from film to something more shareable. Including cyanotype contact prints, because that's just what I do right?

I took some old 35 mm negatives and put them on top of some treated paper. I put a glass over it and put it in a uv box for about 20 minutes.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but I am glad I scanned them before rinsing them because this was the end result:

It still looks cool, but it's not at all what I was hoping for. Oh well, back to the drawing board...

i love your experiments. :-) 💚💚💚

Thanks! I'm hoping to do more with film in the next month or so. I've been buying all the stuff to develop my own B&W piece by piece so it's taking awhile. On Saturday I shot my first roll in 20 years. Definitely my first roll of 120, and very definitely my first roll through an old Brownie. I figure it's special so why not make it the first roll I ever develop too?

you're so right. the developing process is magical and the logical continuation of the using film camera process :-)
good luck 💚💚💚

I've done similar, though it was with a 120 negative, not 35mm. Honestly, the size shouldn't make a difference, but I think I let mine sit for upwards of one hour.
