Last check before the grand finale #hwc2024

in #hive-140635last month

I didn't think that I would visit the garden before the end of the week, since at the end of September everything that was planted and grown was harvested, but I ended up in it because of some other obligations at the cottage.

So while I'm at it, I went to the only surviving pumpkin of this year, the very one that I announced in previous posts as a potential candidate for #hwc2024

Since @der-prophet announced the beginning of the pumpkin world championship in his post, I took part in it and published several posts from my garden, with pumpkins in the center of attention.
Out of all those little embryos, only one made it to the end, didn't let me down and remains my favorite for the @hive-world-champ contest.

Now I just have to wait until the end of October, and I hope that we will receive instructions from you on what we should do next regarding this contest, so that the pumpkin does not "suffer" prematurely, because for a week or two, since my pumpkin is ready for picking, I'm thinking about warm potage, pumpkin pie, or just a piece of pumpkin baked in the oven.

You can see how the life of my pumpkin looked from May until today through the posts:

September

August

July

somewhere in between...

May

What a little beaut!
I'm a late comer to all this, my only pumpkin only appeared a last month and is a little larger than a grape 😄

Are you on an island?
Aren't your winters cold?
Maybe you will be lucky with the weather so that the weather will serve you, so there will be no frost, and your pumpkin will grow. If you had it for a New Year's treat, to make a pumpkin pie...
When I just remember how many of my little embryos died from the extreme heat...

Oh, wow! I have seen it since May. Based on my experience, I think you can harvest pumpkins after just 3 months. =)

In any case, pumpkin is waiting for October 31. So whether it was in the pantry or in the garden, it doesn't matter 🙂

Ohoho, it's a big one! I don't have any such big. !INDEED

Thanks 🙂
Over the season there were a lot of embryos, but almost all died due to excessive temperature. If they hadn't I would have had 20 pieces for sure.
Today, in addition to this larger one, I only have one small one and one too small 🙂

Yes, the same here, and my pumpkins are smaller than I expected. There are one or two more in the field; I'll have to look and write a post.

Your pumpkin seems to be the biggest at the moment. next week I will write another post about the world championship.

Your pumpkin is ripe when the stem becomes woody.

Today it will be harvested and removed from the garden 🙂

You have a strong contender here, congrats!

A strong candidate will be the top ingredient in pumpkin soup 😁
