Painted ceiling in Palace of the Wind under which Dali slept

For a long time after writing posts about the Dalí Museum we visited in Figueres, which I posted in #worldmappin and #tbt I was thinking in which community I can share the remaining impressions from that fantastic museum 🙂
You can see the posts in which I presented the artist's paintings here, while in this post I showed the courtyard and some of the most interesting details of the exterior. I published a separate post with the jewelry collection, and all I have to do is show the sculptures I liked in one post.
They just blew my mind 🙂

Today in this post in the #Ecency community I will show the details of Dali's living space in this house, his bedroom, as well as a room, which I would call a living (while it is a semi-dark) room, with a strange installation dedicated to the artist Mea West.

I have no formal art education. When I see a beautiful painting or sculpture, it can interest me, whether I like it or not.
But this Dali's house, with all the details in it, makes a man completely curious and I'm not sure if he likes what he sees or is scared of him 🙂
On the ceiling is a painting with feet (of Dali and Galina), which is full of details with various symbols.

When approaching the bedroom, there is a corner set with a shoe cleaning box, an installation of wire figures, while creepy figures of upside-down fish are used as footboards for the bed.

Next to the headboard, instead of a night lamp, a chimpanzee skeleton.

The sculpture with the face and chest of a woman, but the neck of a bird with wings is part of a metal bathtub and its symbolism is not clear to me.

But that's why there is a picture above the bed, with melted clocks, which I already explained in previous posts.

Simply, when you are in Dali's house/museum, wherever you turn, you will see some detail, picture or figure, a model that will confuse you and for which you would have to look for an explanation in some art encyclopedias or on the Internet.
I believe that even guided tours cannot cover all the details of this museum...

Allegory of Spring 1978

After leaving the bedroom, we go to the room dedicated to Mea West's portrait.

Following the model of the portrait of this American sex goddess, which Dali was fascinated by, he painted her portrait, after which he later built a model, but in very large dimensions, using furniture and paintings.

When you enter that room, it is not clear to you at first what you need to see, but when you climb the stairs to the elevated position, through the glass eyepiece, Dali's performance appears before your eyes.
The eyes are two pictures, the nose is a shelf with a statue. and the lips are a plastic armchair...

So that you don't think that everything is so "normal" in this room, the installation of the bathroom on the ceiling does not allow you to be more simple, with a bathtub and a vanity table.

And if this post didn't "spin" your brain, wait until the next one, where I'll show some of the sculptures from Dali's collection.
