Weekend engagement topic: A short presentation about the northern coast of the Aegean Sea

in #hive-1688693 months ago

I just came back from summer vacation.
After two years of abstinence from visiting Greece, this year, we repeated our stay on the waters of the Aegean Sea.

Due to the high prices in the most famous resorts of Halkidiki, we chose the budget variant of staying in Thessaloniki and swimming on the beaches of Perea in the Gulf of Thessaloniki.
One day, we made a trip and drove to nearby Nea Kalikratia and enjoyed the beach.

The stay on these beaches was more or less the same, the sea was too warm, the beaches were sandy, there was no grass in the water and no jellyfish, it was 10 days of lounging on deckchairs, swimming and sunbathing.

• What topic could you give a thirty-minute presentation on (to a large group of people) without any preparation? Explain.

made me remember all the previous years, which I spent on vacations on the beaches in this region of Greece...
And gave me an idea...
Since I love travelling and visiting new locations, including cities, towns, villages, and, of course, beaches...
If I had to give a presentation at this moment without any preparation, I would choose the topic: Cities and beaches of the Aegean Sea, the Olympic region, and Halkidiki.

Not half an hour, I could certainly spend more than two hours talking about places and beaches that are worth visiting and what can be seen in this region, just based on what I have seen in all the years of my travels.

It's a shame I didn't know about Hive earlier. My #Pinmapple and today #Worldmappin would have been filled with pins much more than it is now.

Even if I took out my photo archive and completed my presentation, it would take three, four, five hours, easy...

And what could I present about?
About all the places in the Olympic region when entering from Macedonia to Greece from the Evzoni border crossing.
I would start from Edessa and the beautiful waterfalls, the magical Meteora next to Kalambaka, Karetini and Larisa, and I would go to the sea in order.
From Paralia, Olimpic Beach, Litohoro, Plaka, Leptokaria, via Volos to Skiathos and the famous Koukounaries beach with golden sand.

Or about the places I visited when I went to Halkidiki.
Through Thessaloniki and Perea, Aia Triad, Nea Kalikrqti, then south to Nea Moudania, Nea Potidea, and then along the coast of all three fingers of Halkidiki...
Kassandra, via Sani beach, Siviri, Fourka, Posidi, Nea Skioni, Loutra, Pefkohori, Hanioti, Polichrono, Kriopigi, Kalitea, Afitos, and Nea Fokea.

Towards Sithonia, through the towns of Gerakini, Psakudia, Metamorfosi, Nikiti, Neos Marmaras, Toroni, Porto Koufo, Kalamici, Sarti, Vourvourou.

Towards Mount Athos, via Ouranopolis, Nea Roda and Ierisos.

And when you go to Thassos (which I haven't been to yet), the towns of Stavros, Nea Vrasna, Asprovalta and finally the town of Kavala.

From my presentation, the listeners would have a clear picture of the beaches that should be visited (and those that should be skipped), they would probably write down some restaurant where they would have a nice lunch, and they would also write down which places and parts of the cities they should definitely visit for tours of some historical facts or just shopping.

I think that even I, shy as I am, would be able to handle this topic perfectly and give the listeners an interesting presentation.
