Hello walkers and friends!
In summer it is sometimes difficult to walk when it is very hot, we choose other times or other places. Although it is always a pleasure to walk near the sea, feel the cool breeze and that salty smell that invigorates us, as well as the views. I love the sea, I like to always be near it.
What if we could also walk towards the horizon across the sea? It can be in some spur or dike. And next to the port of Valencia, in Spain, we have the recreational area, the Marina Real, where the yacht club is located, beach clubs, elegant restaurants with a tropical air where we can taste good gastronomy while looking at the sea through the window and ample places to walk.
We look at the horizon, at the immense blue sea, everything is blue. And there is the present sun illuminating the entire scene, from the first moments of the day, everything takes on color between chiaroscuro and contrasts.
We look from the viewpoint towards the port and we walk forward, towards the rigging part of the port, although in reality you cannot cross it even when you reach the other area at the end or if you want to go to a large ship that sometimes waits parked at the end, you would have to swim to the other dock, but it doesn't matter because we feel the force of the sea on both sides, in both directions.
We discovered different structures and unexpected inspirational phrases that are missing a letter (the “G” that I have added editing the image, G of gaviota = seagull) perhaps it was blown away by the wind: "Gaviotas que suelen vigilar sin dejar de volar" (M. León and Luce).
"Seagulls that usually keep an eye on them without stopping to fly" (M. León and Luce).
We look back at everything we have left behind, the coast in the background, but it doesn't matter... we remain hypnotized watching how the boats wake up serenely lulled to sleep by the barely perceptible delicate movement of the water, a slight wobble, and it's time to leave.
The first white boats sailing contrast in the immense blue. Others wait for their own ride.
While we see other curious details, they should not paint on the stones, but there they have written the verses of an old and well-known song. Those of you who speak Spanish surely know what song it is about: "Con dinero o sin dinero, hago siempre lo que quiero, y mi palabra es la ley"
"With money or without money, I always do what I want, and my word is the law..."
And we keep looking at the sea, how it hits the rocks with a calm rhythm and how it continues to wait for more of those cool boats that with the passing of time have a greater desire to sail. Because the sun is taking position, higher and higher, brighter and hotter, and it makes us want to jump into the water.
We lean out, we look back at the beach, it is curious to be able to see the beach, the city, and almost the distant mountains from the sea, but without getting on any boat, just walking through a long spur built to take us far across the sea. Feeling that we can reach the horizon, as if it were a finish line.
Surrounded by the blue sea, under a blue sky and in a blue dream that leads us to dream and let ourselves go. Wishing to be in one of those light boats that go away plowing waves with intensity and with a great sensation of freedom. At least that's what we feel from here, before turning back to the mainland... is that freedom? Freedom to the wind, desires to cross the sea and go further, no matter what.
A refreshing, relaxing walk, with beautiful views, inspiring moments and very… liberating.
Happy Wednesday!
