As the days advance I come to learn that time is a precious thing that when put to good use yields positive result. I first noticed it when I moved to this new place few weeks ago when I no longer did most of the things I used to do over the weekend back when I still stayed with my parents. There is so much responsibility but the good thing I noticed is that when I properly lay them out according to importance and their benefits, everything just makes sense and I know what to do.
It is this kind of thought that I believe Heros and Supervillains think. Just take a look at the reference cardof IDRI FYRE, she holds no grudge or feel nothing. She holds a battle stance but can still be perceived as a neutral opponent. I hope I am able to come to this point constantly and take directions based on facts and not feelings continuously. And that my friends is the main reason I picked this character this week. Below are the steps I followed, feel free to try them out.

The card

Here I drew the lineart of the sketch using my blue pen

...the mapping out with my black pen began almost immediately. Just in case you are not familiar with my process, here's a quick run through of the first steps (I probably will cover the other steps in another post); I first draw the lineart using my blue pen which is not spot on accurate. I do this just to get a feel or direction of where I'm going then I traced it out if it's perfect or adjust it otherwise with my firmer black pen.

this step required that I made firm the bodily figure before applying real colour. I got carried away though in this process (as you can see) and started shading the face before I noticed and stopped to take a photo.

I shaded the armour with my blue pen which was very necessary. In areas where I wished to apply depth I introduced a little bit of black and softly shaded over that too. I also at this stage touched up her ears.

To put some fire in her eyes and to fill up the ribbon-like areas of her armour I used the colour red. I also shaded the leaf outlets that popped from her armour. The original colour was green in the card but I used my blue pen very lightly and left it at that.

The hair (which is red) and the little background thing (also red) were the last things I added. I chose to do it this way cause I didn't want to second guess myself especially if the colour or tones didn't go well.

The materials I used while making this sketch are blue, black and red pens from two brands: BIC and SCHNEIDER

You are more than welcome to stop by any time you feel like it. I promise to always keep you entertained with my art.
