This is just a sick, sick world.

I'm functionally disabled myself and I have several issues that have really mucked up my life. I've always felt strongly about severe mental illness and disabilities and it really is something that just physically HURTS me when I read or see things like this from the AP today.

The man pictured, Alan Nichols, was put to death in 2019 by doctors in Canada because he filled out a euthanization form and hadn't told his family.

His family is suing in Canada now because they argue he was put to death and didn't know what he was signing and was coerced to end his life.

The ONLY reason why Alan said he wanted to die by a needle is: hearing loss.

The hospital and nurses and doctors are crying that they are immune from prosecution because they were not required to tell anyone about Alan's decision to kill himself...

The hospitals, doctors and nurses in Canada WILL coerce you to die in their care:

THIS IS BEYOND SICK. This must STOP. NOW.

I support euthanasia for people who truly want to die. I DO NOT support euthanasia for people, who may be vulnerable, to be COERCED into it.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. This really is triggering me badly..

They killed him dude....not funny. He didn't know he was going to die. He thought it was a normal doctor's form. He had a massive stroke which caused the hearing loss and made him not know what was going on.

I know it's not funny. I went all the way there from LA with five buddies back when we were teenagers only to be denied access and then no one could get in. A 3-day trip for nothing.

Seriously, I didn't know you had close ties with the dude. I have this issue where I'm rarely, if ever, able to take things I read on the internet seriously.

Me too - but, in this one particular instance, I've done quite a bit of reading on Alan and his particular case.

In my opinion, his death is a tragedy because he didn't literally want to die apparently. His stroke right before his death, combined with mental illness, made him not really know what was going on.

The hospital saw this, handed him a form to kill himself, didn't inform him that he could talk to his family about this, and then willingly killed him all the while knowing that his family didn't know.

What happened is essentially no different than a hospital giving a form to someone who cannot read, telling them to sign it and that they would get better if they signed it, and killed them. He did not know what was going on by all indications.

And, as I said in my post, this is triggering to me because I know how medical professionals view mental illness. They view it as something that can either cured or lived-with with heavy medication but very rarely do they just have basic compassion about those people who they don't see as people but as patients.

If you've ever been in a hospital getting "treated" for mental illness, you'll see what I'm driving at. It's pretty horrifying seeing a normal human, maybe with a few screws loose as they say, be forcibly doped up with halidol. They call it "brain-hacking" inside. It's nazi shit.

As crippled and gimp and spine lookin like a curvy road as I am, one thing I've not (not yet anyway) needed treatment for is mental illness. :knock-knock: I do hope you find peace.

I've always said if I'm on my way out and there's no hope, take me to the vet. Now I have a second option—go to Canada and complain of an earache.

I don't think we should need to go to a doctor if we want a way out. Fuck doctors. Fuck modern medicine man. What they're trying to do is to normalize killing yourself in the "care" of the System.

(because they made guns illegal in Canada - for "your" protection).

Since you've changed the subject, I'd like to elaborate if you don't mind me bla bla bla'ing in your comment section. I'm from the US so you know I have a decent collection of protection and firearms back home.

We've been touring the globe about six years now. One of the most unrealistic fantasies that'll never make sense to me is how many people are adamant about guns are evil while at the same time are pro guns in cops hands only. That's so ᵗʷⁱˢᵗᵉᵈ to me.

I appreciate bla bla bla'ing bro : ) I appreciate these exchanges quite a bit acutally.

I'm convinced that we don't have a gun problem in the US, we have a Sin problem.

Cops in the US have been and are currently being used to abuse Americans. Many cops do their job faithfully and take a burden by doing so. THe ones that don't are usually ex-mil guys who have several fucked up issues going on in their heads. Namely, they've legally killed people overseas with zero reprecussions at home, except mental anguish maybe.

These are the cops you should fear because they're out in these streets thinking it's Ramadi or Anbar province and that they're the "good guys".

Also, many cops are fucked on legal precscription drugs many more times powerful than even street narcotics.

Ever heard of gabbapentin? Also known as neurontin? It's a major drug given to cops. How do I know? I know cops in multiple states. I'm family with cops in multiple states. It's a highly-abusable drug and it fucks you up really nice and good. Many cops are riding around high af on it but it's completely legal if you have a prescription.

Back to guns - Blacks kill, by far, more people than any other Group in America relative to their population size. Blacks kill more than any other group with guns relative to their population size. Blacks kill more whites than whites kill blacks by population size (and just straight comparison too). Of the gun crimes committed by blacks, the majority are with illegally-obtained firearms, the opposite is true of all other races where the majority of those crimes are committed with legally-obtained firearms.

What I guess I am saying is that there is a problem with violence in America. There is a serious problem with violence in America among blacks committing violence (mostly) against other blacks. Maybe we should have more messaging about how black people need to stop illegally obtaining firearms and illegally living their lives. OFC we don't get that messaging because it would be seen as "racist"...instead we're inundated with messaging of different sorts. Is it any wonder they use mass-shooter Whites as poster children now for why we need to remove guns from American homes?

There is a mass shooting event every Friday night in Chicago but it's not reported as ssuch. But I digress I guess.
