My life has been full of regrets, suffering and breakup but not until I met this girl. I met her at my church though she was new but my guts told me I had to know her, luckily for me she was very near to reach as she came for a holiday at my aunty house but she was not related to them in any way. She was good, beautiful and any man which set their eyes on her would definitely fall in love with her including me. When we first spoke her voice was like a voice of an angel, soft like anything I could ever imagine, melody in my ears and in that instant i fell in love with her. At first I was skeptical about her but as we interacted and got to know each other more I found out that she was okay.
"Hi "i said as I approached her from behind
"Hello" she replied as she turned her back to see who was talking
"I can't help but wonder why you were standing out here alone" i asked wondering what the problem was
"Well it's nothing , I just came out to take some fresh air" she replied.
"Aunty imaobong" two little children shouted while coming to meet her
I couldn't help but wonder if she was their mother at first but as they called her aunty I realized that she was only their aunty.
"So your they're aunty" I asked
"Hmmm yes, I am the one that takes care of them and we just came for holiday at your aunt's place" she said
"My aunt! So you know who I am" i answered surprised as how she knew me
"Well she told me and show me some of your pictures" she replied
"Okay, it was nice meeting You though, am Emmanuel by the name" I introduced myself.
"Hmmm it's nice to meet you Emmanuel, I am imaobong" she replied
From the pronunciation of her name you would realize that she was from akwaibom but the way she looked was way different from where she was and in that instant i knew where she was from as my mom was from there also
"Your from akwaibom !" I asked
"Yes ! You sound surprised" she asked wondering how I knew
"Your name sounds like your from there but your face tells me otherwise " i replied with a smile
"Well it's what people often tell me, but I don't know why" she answered smiling at me.
"Okay, but I actually thought you were an igbo girl " i said with a big smile on my face
We spent some time together, talking and exchanging words before the church ended. As she spoke I was swept off my feet, concentrated at only her and nobody else as we talked, but as my church quickly came to an end I took her number to be able to contact her and that was how it all began
I always call her everyday and so does she, anytime we chatted on the phone i lose track of the time as we would take hours and the conversation would always be fun, as we kept on talking so did out relationship with each other kept on growing stronger. Days passed by, and week turned to months and we grew inseparable, she was always there for me through thick and thin, always on the phone asking me how i was and always in the look out for me.
"How was your day" she asked as Chatted over the phone.
"My day was horrible" i replied with a shaking voice
"What happened, why do you sound like that " she asked concern about what might have happened to me
"Am not feeling too well and I can't even go out because of how weak I am " i answered
"Okay just hold on am on my way" she replied sounding serious on the phone
Within a matter of hours she arrived at my house and I was glad she did, I wasn't able to take care of myself because of how tired and ill i was but thanks to her she made me feel well again. She took care of me in ways I could have never imagine and even spent the night at my place, seeing how caring she was i made sure she knew how much she meant to me and how much I love her too
"Imaobong, I just want to say thank you for being with me through thick and thin" i said as I watched her from my bed cleaning the house.
With an overwhelming smile she said "you don't have to thank me, it why am here, to take care of you"
Smiling at what she said I couldn't help but stand up from where I was to give her a hug and said " am truly blessed to have you in my life"
Imaobong and I have dated for almost two years now and we are currently still together, though we had our differences but we never let it come between us. Just as how caring and loving she was to me I reciprocated the same towards her too and we are doing great.
