In diesem Sommer habe ich die Statue of Satoshi in Budapest, Ungarn besucht.

This summer I visited the Statue of Satoshi in Budapest, Hungary.

...sondern eher außwärts, in Stadtteil Obuda/Romai Ufer, nah zum ebenso sehenswerten Aquincum (Ruinen einer römischen Stadt) und Obudai-Insel, wo das große Sziget Festival jährlich stattfindet.

Damit stellt sich gleich die Frage, warum genau hier? Trotz meiner Recherche kann ich Euch nur meine Vermutungen dazu schreiben: es steht in einem Park (Graphisoft Park), wo viele Techunternehmen ihr Büro in Budapest haben, so Microsoft, SAP.

Möglicherweise arbeitet hier András Györfi, IT-Unternehmer (mit Krypto-Profil natürlich), der auf die Idee kam, Satoshi eine Statue zu errichten. Finanziert wurde die Statue von der ungarischen Kryptocommunity.

András Györfi may work here as well. He is an IT entrepreneur (with a crypto profile, of course), who came up with the idea of erecting a statue to Satoshi. The statue was financed by the Hungarian crypto community.

Die Statue ist eher eine Büste. Satoshi trägt ein Hoody mit Bitcoin Logo, wie ein Button genau dort, wo bei uns das Herz schlägt. Weitere Symbolik sollte das glänzende, reflektierende Gesicht darstellen: wir, alle sind Satoshi.
Eingeweiht wurde die Büste von Réka Gergely und Tamás Gilly in 2021 begleitet von Medien und vielen Kryptoenthusiasten.
Desto leerer wirkte mir die Gelände bei meinem Besuch, dies könnte aber auch auf die glühende Hitze zurückzuführen... Ich habe irgendwelche Reliquien rundherum erwartet, wie Kerzen bei einem Altar, es gab dort jedoch nichts. Ich habe eine HUF (die ung. FIAT-Währung)-Münze dort begraben, symbolisch für die Ehrung der finanziellen Revolution.

The statue is more of a bust. Satoshi wears a hoody with the Bitcoin logo, like a button right where our hearts beat. Further symbolism should represent the shiny, reflective face: we, all, are Satoshi.
The bust of Réka Gergely and Tamás Gilly was inaugurated in 2021 accompanied by the media and many crypto enthusiasts. The area seemed even emptier when I visited, but this could also be due to the scorching heat... I expected there to be some relics around, like candles at an altar, but there was nothing there. I buried a HUF (the Hungarian FIAT currency) coin there, symbolic of honoring the financial revolution.
Da die erste Bitcoinzahlung durch eine ungarischnamige Person, Laszlo Hanyecz erfolgte, stellte sich mir die Frage, ob das erste Satoshi-Denkmal in Ungarn mit ihm irgenwie nicht im Zusammenhang steht. Ich bin keine investigative Journalistin, so habe ich nur im Internet nachgeschaut und... nichts gefunden. Sorry. Nicht mal die Bestätigung der angenommenen ungarischen Abstammung vom Amerikaner, Hanyecz. Weißt du mehr darüber vielleicht? Dann her damit! 🙏

Since the first Bitcoin payment was made by a person with a Hungarian name, Laszlo Hanyecz, I wondered whether the first Satoshi monument in Hungary was not related to him somehow. I'm not an investigative journalist, so I just looked online and... found nothing. Sorry. Not even confirmation of the supposed Hungarian ancestry from the American, Hanyecz. Please, share, if you know more about this topic.
