Chelsea Legend Didier Drogba at the back of being inducted into Premier league Hall of Firm lost his bid of becoming the President of Ivory Coast Football Association. Following the steps of fellow Cameroonian African Legend Samuel Eto, Drogba was favourite in clinching position due to his outstanding contribution to his country and football development in Africa. It is on record that the football association in Ivory cost was formed with the help of the Chelsea legend, but much to the amusement of football fans on social media, other experienced key players in the industry took the lead much ahead of Drogba.
Although the Chelsea Legend made various contributions which has brought sports development to the game of football in his home country, many home grown giants still believe faulted his relationship with other citizens and the body citing that he lacks credibility and experience required for the role of FA President.
the forst round which had a total of 131 votes saw Daillo, a business man and Vice President of Ivory Club Fad win the round with 59 votes, and another contestant Diabet, a fromer Vice pPresident of FIF came second with 50 votes while Drogba finished with just 21 votes.Drogba lost in both round of the election which saw Diallo, a current FIF executive member win the election by land slide victory.
