Greetings to all the people of good vibes and energy that are part of the "Encuentro de Talentos" family, for me it is an immense pleasure to write some lines in relation to a topic that I love and that is closely related to the previous topic on "goals".
The theme that summons us in this opportunity is related to: life is for celebration, and in this opportunity I totally agree.
In my home a very nice culture was created around the celebration, and it is not that it simply meant making many expenses or purchases, on the contrary, it is about giving thanks for a goal accomplished, for reaching a new year of life, for the birth of a family member or simply, it was a wonderful excuse to reunite family and friends.
I have many memories of wonderful celebrations that we had at home and at the grandparents' house. For us, by tradition on December 24, at maternal grandparents' house, we always met all the uncles, aunts, cousins and cousins, and I loved these moments, because I lived in another city and there were no cell phones, so our communication was very little and we had to make the most of the time we could be together.
I remember that since I was a little girl I loved to organize activities and so, I was in charge of the cultural events that we prepared for that day. I became a choreographer, choir director, I wrote plays, you can't imagine all that I did and I was immensely happy at that time. After many years, the grandparents passed away, but we continue to get together, no longer as before, because we grew up, but now many of us develop new traditions with our own families, so we continue thanking God for all the blessings and as a family, which is the most beautiful thing.
For me, celebrating is a beautiful act where we consciously feel proud and happy for an event we achieved, it can be the fulfillment of a personal goal, a special day, or simply to be thankful because we are alive and in family.
I have unforgettable days and dates that have meant something so special in my life and of course the celebrations on those dates have been some of the best things that have happened to me. I am always grateful for the privilege of having a family that is far from perfect, but is always willing to celebrate to share every moment of happiness between us. Some of the best celebrations I remember I will mention briefly with anecdotes that come to mind at this moment.
Celebrar Navidad, 24 de Diciembre
Celebrate Christmas, December 24th
I already have 48 Christmases of celebration, focused on how wonderful it is to be alive, healthy and accompanied by so much love that it is difficult to describe. I don't think I have a Christmas better or worse than another, because each one is different and has its nuances, that makes them special. Preparing the hallacas, decorating the house, the guaco music, the family hug, sitting at the table and each person giving a qualitative evaluation of the year and giving thanks for being in that moment, I tell you, is priceless. I value very much sharing with my family, as I told you, I have been doing this for 48 years.
Since 20 years ago new members joined our family, my sister-in-law and nephews, I tell you that the arrival of my nephews has been for me, one of the greatest blessings that life has given me. I have no children of my own, but the universe placed these 3 beautiful and loving beings of light that come every day to tell me phrases like "aunt, I love you", "aunt, I miss you", "aunt, I am happy for you", their embrace becomes the greatest celebration for my soul.
Celebrar 21 de Diciembre, el Espíritu de la Navidad
Celebrating December 21, the Spirit of Christmas
Every year, we gather at home and previously we buy mandarins, incense, I search the internet for rituals (because every year we see something different), what is constant is that we all have pencil and paper, we write 21 wishes. I particularly ask for 7 at a global level, 7 for the family and 7 personal; this is like writing my wishes, goals, short term dreams, for the following year I do a quick audit to know if I fulfilled them or not, and why yes, or why not.
These traditions are passed down from generation to generation, and my 3 nephews already know it and like the purpose of it.
Cumpleaños
Birthdays
The best of all celebrations together are of course birthdays. The cake, the snacks, candy, and seeing the smile on each birthday boy's face is priceless.
In my home and I think in all of Venezuela, there is a saying that goes: fiesta without tequeños is no fiesta, so it is here, in all celebrations must be the "tequeños", which is a cheese stick or dough stuffed with cheese and then heated in oil and is delicious from my point of view.
Before my nephews were born, we had a baby shower, and that is one of the best moments to celebrate with family and friends. I think that every celebration should have an implicit purpose, this allows us to evaluate what we really want to do and why we do it, with this we can value much more its meaning, that is why the birth of a person is a blessing from God, therefore it deserves to be celebrated with all the love in the world.
Mis graduaciones
My graduations
Another of the celebrations that I have loved are related to thesis presentations, I think that this moment and the instant where the jury president says: approved, my heart beats a thousand, and then I almost always cry.
Putting on my cap and gown is a very nice feeling, because it is where I understand that I achieved an objective, a goal that I had set, I think of every obstacle overcome, and it makes me feel very proud of myself, it is an indescribable feeling, as I always say: my degrees are my children, because I have had to suffer and love them at the same time and they are nurtured with the time of learning.
Superar las enfermedades y operaciones.
Overcoming illnesses and operations.
The feeling of being in a hospital, under uncertainty at every moment, I do not wish it even to my worst enemy, so we always thank life, because it allows one more time on this earthly plane to continue with our projects. 2020 was a year that changed our life, it transformed it in every way. It taught us that life is short, and that we must worry about the present without neglecting the future.
Overcoming these life situations is worth celebrating, especially recognizing the importance of being in this moment, in the company of our loved ones, and understanding that we must learn to value what we do, what we are, learn to love ourselves and always think that gratitude is a sublime act that we must put into practice.
Many times we immerse ourselves in a huge negativity, a toxic universe that sometimes is only in our mind and this does not bring us anything good, I say this from my own experience. We must be able to learn to take daily steps, to achieve short term goals, and celebrate every time we achieve them. Find that motivation, laugh, sing, dance, read, understand that we must find that point of balance between what makes us happy and the world around us.
We will find the greatest celebration when we are able to smile and have self-esteem, learn to see ourselves in the mirror and love that reflection, and if we can improve something, we will set goals and be thankful for each one we achieve, celebrating is not about having a lot of money and showing others that we are celebrating, on the contrary, it is about showing ourselves that we achieved it, that we got to the point we want to get to, that we managed to overcome obstacles and we are in this moment, surrounded by people who love us, and those who are alone, simply learning to value solitude and union with ourselves.
Thank you for reading me. Always remember to celebrate life!
