Bird Watching at the Nature Reserve

The visiting waxwings are still around. These pretty birds have been visiting this spot for a while now, feasting on the berries. I think everyone in the county must have photographed them by now.

Not forgetting the fieldfare, a member of the thrush family, who also joined in on the feast.

We then drove down to the local nature reserve. We didn't fancy a long walk with it being so cold. It was definitely brass monkey weather. There's a bird feeding table there so we just popped down to leave some bird seed. There was a lovely bullfinch with its beautiful pinkish-red breast sat in the hedge waiting its turn as the crow helped itself to the food.

There were a few little blue tits as well. This one had just had a feed and was wiping its beak on the branch.

Meanwhile, the female blackbird had found a windfall of apples on the floor, so she was busy pecking at those.
