This morning, I decided to do a bit of Christmas shopping. Unfortunately, I arrived at the shops a bit early, as they weren't open until 10 am. Not wanting to miss the opportunity of having a coffee to pass the time, I decided to pop into the Caffe Massarella to grab a coffee and a vegan breakfast. It had been a while since I had been to this particular cafè, as it had undergone a refurbishment several months ago. As soon as I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by the changes. The cafè looked more spacious and nicely decorated with a ramp at the front entrance, making it accessible for those with mobility issues.
I ordered the vegan breakfast and was told they needed to check if they had all the ingredients. As it was only 9.50 am with hardly anyone in the café, it wasn't a good start.
I sat at my table for a while before finally, my breakfast was brought out to me. Looking down at my plate I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. If I removed the two large slices of bread, there really wasn't much left. The bread was a bit on the hard side as well. In fact, I could have knocked nails into a piece of wood with it. Oh hum.
On the bright side, the black americano was strong and helped wash down the disappointing meal. Despite the good coffee, I knew that I wouldn't be returning to this café anytime soon!
At least Santa has arrived early. It's a shame he didn't bring me a decent meal! The café looked nice but had no substance. As we say, "all fur coat and no knickers!".
