After a walk down the Cromford Canal, we popped into the 'Tor Café' based up the road on a very busy main road and junction. It is somewhere we'd not been before but have driven past it many times. Next door to the café is an old railway carriage that has been transformed into extra inside seating for the café.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t any parking outside but across the road we found some 'charity parking'. Basically, you put money in an honesty box, and all monies go to the local community centre.
Once inside, it was quite colourful and quirky, just the way I like it. It is cycle and dog friendly. I presume they mean muddy feet and paws welcome!
We timed our visit perfectly as I think it can get quite busy at lunchtime
I also like it when the mugs don't match!
We had two veggie breakfasts, which were only £5 each. For an extra £1, they threw a coffee in with it, so we had a latte and a bog standard coffee. It was £12 all together, which I'd normally pay for just one meal. Cheap as chips! It was nice coffee as well and the food was well cooked. It was definitely a place I could easily return to.
