A big hello, to all the wonderful member of this awesome Music Zone community. This is Week 119 Round 2 of the music contest, and this week I will be performing a wonderful song titled Fallin' by Alicia Keys.
This song is by no means one that can be executed like the original as a solo piece because of its intricate melodies and harmonies that are constantly bouncing around to really elicit that falling feeling. And of course, I am no Alicia Keys, but I will do my very best to perform the song according to my ability. The song starts out with a very strong, almost violent vocal run, that I honestly think I fumbled quite a lot. Then there's the bridge, which is just anl beautifully complex section. Anyways, I promise I tried to try my best on this acoustic cover, don't judge me too harshly😂.
The song Fallin' was on Alicia Keys very first studio album which was released in 2001, named Songs in A minor, which an album that I would totally recommend to anyone who has not heard it. My favorite song on the album is probably Butterflyz. The acoustic nature of the song is just so soothing. Anyways, let's get back on topic.
Fallin', I would say, is about some kind of push and pull relationship where one party feels like they are being rocked like a boat on the seas of love. One moment, they feel the love so strongly, and the next moment, their partner maybe does something that makes them not feel loved. However, as Alicia herself says in the song, they keep on falling for their partner amidst it all. Sounds kinda toxic, if you ask me, but it is what it is.
Generally, Fallin' is just a great song that has a great beat and groove to it. I love the song so much, and it is most certainly a very good vocal challenge for any singer looking for things to practice.
