See through power, where does it come from? When my dad was sick we were able to take care of him through the highs and lows because we had a pretty good idea what we wanted - him as comfortable as possible. Of course everyday poses its unique challenges. The strategy may be brilliant but when the end result isn't exactly known, or in alignment with the purpose then it becomes a tricky one.
Imagine being on something for so long, exuding the same energy as the first day, or even better, yet still keeping an eye on the ball. A lot of us do manage to accomplish just that but perhaps more people fail to do so. Consistency is hard as I've often pointed out in countless posts, and it takes a special kind of consistency to keep our eyes fixated on the goals at hand. Of course consistency shouldn't be done in isolation, and there are several factors that could aid us in this quest.
Some of us will like to be motivated along the way to continue being consistent. I mean, it doesn't necessarily have to come from an external source, but even internally seeing certain results can prompt us to take significant action. If all we have is the promise of better, or the end in mind then it becomes that more difficult to break it into daily tasks and accomplishments. I certainly prefer having incentives laid before me but even this is not a guarantee to finishing power.
Then again simply showing up in itself can be rewarding enough. I've heard all kinds of teachers say that the sweetest part of a journey is in the process itself, not the destination. Perhaps hammering away every single day may yet yield unprecedented results for all involved.
