The Ideal Privacy

Everyone loves privacy, personally, I love my space, I feel so uncomfortable when people seem to always be around my life. It's like bondage for me, the best moment of my life is when am all by myself with no one else around.

just like me, people love to have their space, everyone cherishes a life where he or she is alone without intruders.

This is why most young people desire to be independent when they reach a certain age. It's also the same privacy matter that makes a man leave his father's house to start his home somewhere when he is married.

No matter how much we love to be around people, there is always a limit to it. There are certain things we want to experience or execute alone. There are things we don't want anyone else to know concerning us.

I know the relevance of privacy to some extent that is why I don't love intruding into people's private lives. The first thing I observe whenever I am with someone is; areas of their lives in which they don't like anyone tempering wit

h, once I know them I set limits.

Since we all love privacy it's very important that we respect people's privacy too, including our loved ones. It's funny how some parents don't give their children breathing space, it's almost like they are the ones living for them. It's unfair to want people to respect your privacy and you don't respect theirs.

I have a friend who once he enters his room and locks the door from within, doesn't even bother coming around to look for him or even make the mistake of knocking on the door, he won't open up or even respond to you.

It took me time to blend with this principle but I did eventually, LOL. It was recently he told him, that anytime he is in, he trades in the forex market. I was like woah! I didn't know, I just thought you were cutting away from us.

Truth is people need privacy for many things, for some persons that private moment is when they become most productive. So, it's best if we allow them to enjoy their time.

Nevertheless, we must also draw the line, that allowing someone to enjoy his or her private life doesn't mean we should totally cut away from them or stop checking up on them.

Recently in my place, a young guy who taught in a private school didn't go work one fateful Monday. His students were so worried about him that a few of them decided to go to his house during the break hour to find out what happened.

The house was a stone's throw from the school, when they got to the house, they didn't see a padlock on the door, they knocked for some time but there was no response, so they went back to school and related the matter to the principal.

The principal and a few male staff followed him to the house, when they got there, they also knocked but no one responded, so they decided to force his window open and they saw the young man lying lifeless on the bed.

They reported the case to the police and when the police came, they broke through the door and carried his corpse.

The police officers were so mad at the fellow tenants in the compound. How will you be with someone in the same house, you know he goes out every morning but that day he didn't and you never cared to check up on him.

In as much as we respect people's privacy, we also don't have to let the attitude of always checking up on people die.

Like I said earlier, I respect people's privacy so much but I don't joke with checking up on people. If I understand that you are the type that doesn't like constant visitation, I call from time to time, or text. Thank God for social media, I can easily drop you a message.

When you don't reply or don't take my calls or return them, then I am sure something is wrong, I won't hesitate to come around.

A lot is happening in the world today, people are going through a lot, and forget it that they have principles around their lives. When you try to reach out to them and they are not responding don't hesitate to take action. It's better they get angry with you for intruding than assume they are fine when they are in trouble.

This is why I always find a means to communicate with my loved ones no matter the situation, you must just create a means for me to reach out to you, it could be text, it could be a beep call, or a message on social media. Just let me know you are alright and that's all.

Some people are just like that, they enjoy their own private times more than public spaces. Is good to allow them enjoy it to a very large extent, but that doesn't mean cutting them off. We should equally intervene when we see the need to.

That's right, it's very important to respect people's decisions to live private life but it's wrong to totally cut away from them

Yeah, I agree, no matter how private someone is, we should try as much as we can to always check up on people.

That is what I am driving at. Let's always try and check each other no matter how private we want to to be

I totally agree with you. We shouldn't want privacy to the extent of cutting away from people. Hmm, we just need to be checking up on people even tho they want to be alone. People are really going through a lot

My dear, privacy is good but taking it too extreme to cut away from our loved ones is bad

Yeah

There was a story of a woman who died and decayed to a skeleton. People only knew after her account balance got exhausted and her rent was due. Her family members said they tried reaching out to her and got no response they thought it was her usual self of wanting to be alone. They didn't know she died.

Gosh, see how I am feeling for her. What kind of wanting to be alone would make you cut away from your family? This is the reason why we have to intrude sometimes. If not often but occasionally. It will save our loved ones

Yes most definitely. I do that with all my friends. The moment I don't hear from them, I am contacting their families.

Very important ma, I used to be bad at it but had to learn it recently

Nice well done 😘

I think we should be balanced in everything, I love my private space too but there are times we just don't have a choice and it is also important to check up on people even though we know them to be very private person.

Exactly ma, there has to be a balance. We shouldn't take privacy to the point where we become so alone that people can't have access to us

This is why we need to always observe someone so that when they do not do that thing, we assume something is wrong and quickly do the needful especially before it is too late. The neighbours of the guy weren't observant enough or that they don't like intruding into people's affair, perhaps with how the victim had been behaving to them. But in all, we shouldn't assume all is well with someone and not ask after them.

That's very true, their relationship with the guy is obviously not a good one. A lesson for us all, be at peace and be friendly with those around you, you don't know what the next minute holds
