Well, looks like BYU's luck finally ran out. Against a 4-6 Kansas at home, no less. In all fairness, most of Jayhawks' losses this season have been less than one possession. However, the Cougars committed critical mistakes as shown in this clip:
That eventually became a touchdown for Kansas, which sealed the game.
Regardless, the BYU offense was terrible the entire night. I fear they will not be able to beat Arizona State next week. Believe it or not, if Colorado and Arizona State win the rest of their regular schedule, BYU would be out of the Big 12 championship. The typical BYU fan doesn't understand that the margin for errors is small in the conference. The Cougars may have exceeded expectations this year, but it's a sad way to go.
Penn State had another cupcake game. There was nothing to celebrate. I can't see the Nittany Lions not winning the rest of the regular season.
In other news, we shall see how the Playoff Committee ranks Georgia and Tennessee. I guess it will be like the Georgia loss against Ole Miss where a team's loss translates into two SEC teams in the top 12 because of stat padding and bias.
Yes, I can see the number of Big Ten teams in the top 5. The Big Ten spreads their teams out to avoid mass casualties. That's how they can appear to have one or no losses this late in the season. SEC gets the hype bias to jack up their ranking. That's how you can have the Georgia and Tennessee scenario where losing adds another team from your conference to the cutoff.
Two more games left in the regular season. We will see who gets to play in conference championships soon.
