"Always remember, your focus determines your reality."
- George Lucas
"The best way to predict the future, is to create it."
- Abraham Lincoln
I stared puzzled, wondering how to start this post. Initially, I was going to go with some humor from George Carlin and his 7 words you can't say on television, but I think that list has since been modified. Then, I was going to go with something inspirational to get the feel goods flowing, but settled on something a little more self-reflective.
Those two quotes up there are going to and have continued to serve me well. I find there is at least a little of 'the force' in all of us, even if we don't know it. Call it spiritual power, magic, will, whatever you want, I don't care - but, it's there. You know this to be true because of your conversations, interactions and socializations and your mindsets afterwards.
The things people push onto you often shape how you feel or react and it is a hard cycle to break. Especially if you are crowded with negativity. Think about it. How good and determined do you feel when you get off of the phone with someone who's objective - albeit known to you or not - is to end the call with a smile? How bad do you feel, and unmotivated, when you speak with someone that - even by their own unknown agenda - only complains or prattles on about how shitty things are?
You are who you choose to be. You are what you eat. Your network is your net worth. Yadda, yadda. There are a hundred phrases I could fit here that you've likely heard and maybe paid no mind to. Words, you know, are powerful.
Words
Last year, there were some interesting words added to the dictionaries out there by our lexicalizing linguistics experts. (Say that 5 times real fast.) Some of them had me scratching my head, some of them I already use and some of them are just like, seriously? So here's a list of 7 words and their definitions I thought you might enjoy. I may even add a few of these to my every day vocab. Is vocab a word yet? Believe so. 😁
"Jaded" - this one, I'm shocked that was not already added years ago as I've been using it for decades. Yes decades. Don't be too jaded if you have never heard it before or don't know what it means.
"MacGyver" - apparently, the new thing is to add names as actual definitions, instead of just leaving them float to slang. I've been MacGyvering shit since I was what, twelve? You should have seen some of the working inventions I came up with.
"Angst" - again, thought this was already a frig'n word. Teenage angst and rage and anger and misplaced emotions from the confusion beset by the 'not so woke' idiocracy (wow, idocracy isn't a word?) of mainstream cancel culture media has really come on strong.
"Schmuko" - this one is just fun to say. It even rhymes with "Fukko". And isn't there already a schmuk? Ya they mean the same thing, idiots.
"Blert" - I had to put this in here to slap a few of those other blockchain wannabes (totally a word) in the face. It is defined as a weak or useless person. Can be converted to a verb and mean to literally fuck it all up.
“Rizz” - this was actually the Oxford Word of the Year for 2023 and is already thought overused. Funny, I've only heard it on TikTok bullshit. It's a lazy short for “charisma”, meaning one's swagger or also can be doubled as a compliment for a swank or respectable style.
"Hack" - not so surprisingly, it was already in there, but had a different meaning, now it has multiple meanings like to scam or to 'MacGyver' something and make it work for you.
So who's got the Rizz, yalreadyknow. Ya, I made that a word too. Because I can schmuko. Get your blertin' asses outta here all tryin' pull a hack off my MacGyvered maneuvers. Angsty hoovers. Jaded and faded from all the shits, piss, cunts, fucks, cocksuckers, motherfuckers and tits. And tits shouldn't even be on the list man. Just REMEMBER TO BE YOU! I always am, slaying with slaps and dapps on the way.
Wanna find me on that other shit?
