the highest point in our small town is on the outskirts, a hill known as Signalen. though there is no road to the top it's easily accessed if you don't mind a short but steep climb. the panoramic views are wonderful all year round but in the winter they are bright and cheery with the snow. i took this series in December 2022 with my S22 phone
the harbor and the center of town with Larviksfjorden and Ytre Oslofjord behind
zoomed in on the rocks
the Stavernsodden Lighthouse on the island and on the mainland is Fredriksvern Verft, the old naval base that is now a park,
the town below with the island across the sound. the square red house is a lookout connected to the old naval base
a wider view of the eastern part of town and the harbor
the western part of town with the entrance to the sound and island beyond
the small town is looking at it's finest dressed in white
looking farther west and out of town. the pyramid is the national seamen's memorial hall honoring all those who lost their lives at sea during the two world wars last century
the church is in the lower middle of the photo.
Merry Christmas to all
