Having coffee with the enemy

Don Mouse is the Mayor of the city of Cheese City, a prosperous region full of hard-working little mice that day by day organize thousands of things in the fields to collect seeds, fruits, and vegetables and keep the production activities, which they then exchange for cheese in the city.

This unique character, every day he leaves his house very lively, driven by coffee, since he was a child his father taught him to enjoy coffee in the early hours of the morning, it was always necessary as soon as he got up to have a cup of coffee to get inspired, think and create great ideas.

Every morning this little mouse had to walk a long way to get to the fields, where all his little mouse friends were ready to grow the food that they exchanged with the city, and it was recurrent that a fat pigeon saw him from the power lines and made fun of him, saying insulting things to him, He simply ignored it, but the mocking pigeon constantly told him that someday he would run out of coffee at home and would stop being so eager to work, that moment would come soon and that when it did, she would be waiting for him to stop ignoring her and give her the coffee she was saving.

The little mouse continued to ignore the bird's words, but deep inside he laughed at this colorful bird that always bothered him, although not in a bad way, he just wanted attention, the pigeon felt a little envious of his charisma, his strength, and his drive that he had every morning thanks to the coffee, On many occasions, she asked him to give her some cheese or some of the seeds they collected from the fields to feed her, but since she was lazy and only dedicated herself to hanging on the wires and bothering everyone who passed by, the little mouse did not consider her offer and left her aside so as not to reward her laziness.

A very cold winter came, when the snow was almost beginning to girdle on the fields, the little mouse as every day got up very early and realized that his coffee grinder was in red, there were no coffee beans available to grind, this caused him a big mental problem, how could he solve this? How could he? Amid this cold crisis where surely all the little mice that provided the precious grain had their stores closed, without a doubt, they were taking refuge from the cold and opened their stores after 8:30 am, but he had to set an example and leave very early to get to the fields and be able to guide the activities that were being done.

Especially at this time of the year, it was very important to gather the grains before the frigid air arrived, otherwise they would be lost, and it depended on them to ensure a sufficient supply of cheese to get through the winter and feed everyone.

It was at this moment that doubt loomed in the little mouse's mind, how could he keep warm, how could he maintain his enthusiasm, and how could he make it to the plantations where the journey would be made in time without losing the ability to drink the coffee? He needed the coffee for the impulse, and after thinking, he finally decided to consider the offer of the lazy dove, he remembered that his alter ego that every day made fun of him, on some occasion had told him that she had a special reserve of coffee beans so that one day he could ask for it, evidently the dove knew that winter was approaching, her bird instinct announced that the cold was near and that was something that the little mouse could not foresee.

So, plucked up his courage, he finally decided to take the pigeon's offer into account, he headed towards it very early, even before the stores opened, before anyone else went out into the dark and desolate street. He noticed that the pigeon was sleeping on the wire, so he picked up a stone and threw it straight at it, hitting it in the chest and making it let out a thunderous scream.

The pigeon said, “Are you crazy, what's wrong with you, why are you waking me up like that,” and he said, “Well, I'm finally going to accept your offer, I need those coffee beans you offered me, you lazy pigeon, I know you will never work, nor will you do anything, just make fun of all of us, but I have an offer for you because I have a good heart and I don't want you to die of cold.

If you give me the coffee beans that you have hidden, I will give you corn and birdseed so that you can store them while the winter does not allow it, that way we will both be happy and have what we want.

The pigeon was amazed by the good heart of this little mouse, who on another occasion even though he made fun of him and constantly stalked him preferred to help her and save her life because the pigeon in his ineptitude would have frozen to death when the snow arrived at the wires, so he set out to build a nest, So he decided to build a nest, hide and with the provision that the little mouse offered him, he was able to spend the winter safely, the little mouse was also able to solve his coffee problem because, to his astonishment, the pigeon had stolen a ¼ of a coffee bean a long time ago, which was enough as raw material to drink it during the whole winter.

😜Well written story

Oooooo I think this is a fable, and it also has a very interesting and involving twist. The closing of the post confirms for me the moral between the little mouse and the pigeon. : )

I like your fun spin on the prompt.😂

Hello dear friend, ha, ha, ha, ha I'm glad you liked it, I enjoyed writing it to the fullest, the pigeon deserved the stone XD, I hope the other users also like it, that's how we all are when we don't have coffee, we think so much that then some can answer as my character did to be able to have coffee again before 8:15.
