Oh, this is definitely going on my reading list! I just recently bought Bone in the Throat by Anthony Bourdain and it's sent me down the fiction rabbit hole again. Ireland was like no place I've ever been. As you know, I felt an instant affinity for London but Ireland was something different altogether. We steered clear of Dublin (except for the airport) and spent most of our time in the countryside. The people were the main difference for me between England and Ireland. The English were friendly enough (akin to Americans) but the Irish were warmer and welcomed us almost like family. Almost every interaction was that way.
Have you seen this film?
