It's been ages since I've done this, but here we go, I'm planning to do it again. Years ago I had a challenge called 7 Days Outside, which was a photography challenge and I loved it. Then one day I decided to end it for a good reason. It was a good challenge, but not perfect. (Is there a perfect challenge at all? I suppose it depends on who you are asking.)
I've been thinking for awhile about what I can do to help Hive, or newbies to be more precise. I see them struggling with what to write about. There are quite a few challenges on Hive, with different topics, but I think one more can never hurt.
I've been thinking about what I can do, what challenge I can come up with, to motivate newbies and not only. The main focus has been on helping users to learn through the challenge and also give them the freedom they need in writing. Strict rules are not always good as can lead to killing creativity. In this challenge, general Hive rules will apply, but there will be a lot of freedom regarding what you can do.
In the meantime, I've retired my actifit activity and repurposed my alt account. I'm going to use it to run this challenge, so if you're going to be interested in joining the fun, you can follow my alt, @erikahfit.

CelebrationDay Challenge
The idea of this challenge came when I saw a list with celebration days and thought I could make a fun challenge out of it. Before you jump to conclusion, I'm not interested in a dissertation about what each day stands for. The challenge will be about what you do on that day and how you celebrate it.
There's a post published on my alt account with more details, you can read it here -> #CelebrationDay Challenge
There are so many good events organized worldwide, to raise awareness of almost everything. There are events organized by charities as well, to help those in needs. These events sometimes go unnoticed by many, partly because of the daily rush, partly because of laziness.
The other events are just fun and I don't think we need to miss the fun.
January 4, 2023 is National Spaghetti Day. Do you like spaghetti? If you do, show us your spaghetti dish, let's see who has the most delicious spaghetti, or the most good looking one as tasting will not be possible.
January 7, 2023 is National Bobblehead Day. Did you know? I didn't. Do you know that it is? I had to look it up, but there it is:
National Bobblehead Day (#NationalBobbleheadDay) is an annual official holiday that was developed by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum (@BobbleheadHall). Every year on January 7th. The first National Bobblehead Day was celebrated on Wednesday, January 7, 2015
Post your favorite bobblehead related pictures on social media using #NationalBobbleheadDay source
Do you have a Bobblehead collection? I don't but would be glad to see yours, so if you have one, feel free to post about it and tell us the story about how you got them or whatever story you have about your collection.
January 14, 2023 is National Dress Up Your Pet Day. Some of you who have pets, most likely have some coats for them, so here's the occasion to show off your dog's collection. Let's see what you have :)
February 17, 2023 is Random Acts of Kindness Day.
On February 17 let yourself be inspired by Random Acts of Kindness Day to bring joy to the people you come across. The day encourages people to do good deeds, and celebrate the pay-it-forward mentality. It also reminds us that doing something kind for someone else can have a big impact not only on their day, but also on ours - being kind to others makes us happier, and makes us realize we need to be kinder to ourselves too. An act of kindness doesn't have to be a big gesture either, sometimes the smallest act can have the biggest impact. source
This is an interesting one and I hope to see as many joining as possible. It's not difficult to do kind things randomly, you just have to open your eyes, see how you can help and do it.
When And How
As I said in my other post, details and rules will be provided later next week. I'm posting about this challenge now, so you can have time to look at the list, make some plans and start drafting some posts, if you have stories. You can join or skip any day you like, nothing is mandatory here. There will also be a slippage allowed, of a few days. The challenge starts on the 1st day of next year and will last the whole year, if there will be users interested.
There's no prize money to win, but I'm going to curate entries with this account. Spreading the word is highly appreciated as well.
Feel free to let me know what you think about the idea. Are you joining the fun? Do you have some funny hangover stories for the 1st of January? 😂
If you have gone all out while celebrating New Year's Eve, you'll be happy to discover that January 1st is National Hangover Day. It's a good thing this day coincides with New Year's Day, as it gives people the chance to stay home and nurse their headaches. Obviously starting the year hungover is not ideal, but this day lets those who have overindulged know that they are not alone in their mistakes. source
Or do you have a cure for hangover? Let's hear it!
So stay tuned, follow my alt (@erikahfit) in case you're interested in the challenge and follow #celebrationday tag to read the stories next year.
