It's time for another gardening report, so come with me as I'd like to show you what we have so far and not only.
Let's start with the walnuts. These have been with a huge question mark for a long time as we've had no idea if we're going to have any this year. Yet, look how big they already are.
Oh, wait, don't take everything for granted 😂. Look how small they are. Well, my dad can hardly wait for them to grow a little more, as he wants to make some walnut liqueur. Maybe in two weeks he can harvest some.
Sadly, this is how the currants look like. Lack of rain has caused some damage already.
I talked to my dad and tomorrow we're going to set up the irrigation system, to be able to water this garden as well, till it's not too late.
We have white and red currants and as you see, not all looks bad. These are looking good.
Gooseberries are still looking good, looks like drought has not affected them. I'm really counting on these as I need to make a jam that I'm usually using for my cake.
What do you think? How big are these gooseberries? 😏
Last year was not a good one for the hazelnuts. We had very little and after some research, it turned out that we should have had the bushes trimmed.
My dad didn't know that, so this year, when the time came, he did the necessary work and it looks like it was the right decision.
The vine is looking good, most likely it's going to need some watering, but the flowering period is over and I hope nothing bad happens.
This is the mulberry, looking better than last time. This is a funny one, as the fruits at the bottom of the tree are green, as you can see, these are nowhere near the consumption state. Yet, there are some that are fully ripe already. Mother nature is a mystery I suppose.
Raspberries were still in the flowering state two weeks ago and look at it now. If things go well, in a month and a half I can harvest them. Can hardly wait.
So this was our fruit garden, but I have more photos :) I visited the neighbor's garden today and took some photos. He has much more than we have.
Plum tree is full of fruits and even though one would think this is a good thing, neighbor says it's not good. According to him, too much fruit is going to result in smaller sized fruits. Is it true? Who knows. We've never had plum trees. I guess we shall see.
He has a lot of cherries and I envy him for that.
This is my harvest, the healthy snack of the day. I can assure you that these were heavenly good, just perfect for consumption. Maybe tomorrow I can harvest some more 😜
The other fruits I envy him for is the strawberries. We've never had any, so I'm always buying strawberries from the farmers market.
He also has pears and we always get a bucket of pears, when the time comes. We had a tree, but I suppose it was too old and had to be cut down at some point.
So this is a bit of cheating as only half is ours, but please enjoy the photos :)
