More From The Pumpkin Festival

Shame on me as we're closer to Easter than to the pumpkin festival, so it's about time to show you the rest of the photos I took in October at the pumpkin festival I visited.

This was the second edition for me and the 8th or 9th for the festival itself. It has become a habit already to go see what these lovely and talented kids can come up with each year and trust me, you think you've seen it all, but you are wrong as each year you see a lot of new creations and designs.

I'm going to star with this setup as it is the one I love the most. The theme is covering a bit more than pumpkins. It's an entire family (it seems), like a real one you can see in villages.

Most likely the lead architect or designer of this scene was not a school kid, but it doesn't matter as I love it.

Look at those dummies and how the wooden wheel served to showcase the grain and all the goodies nature has to offer at the end of the gardening season. Those goodies are the essence of life, the gold these villagers get for their hard work, that serves to survive till the next harvest.

Meet grandpa, who looks either disappointed, or sad, or both, but still, I love it. He's quite fashionable in his jeans and checkered blue shirt, plus he has a nice straw hat.

Grandma on the other hand looks lively, with her glasses and scarf, which is traditional for village women her age. She was busy braiding the onions, garlic and red paprika, which then she most likely would be hanging up to dry.

Jokes aside, it is a funny and lovely scene, but it breaks my heart to think how hard life used to be (and still is for some) for them back in the day. This makes me appreciate more what I have.

You can see all kinds of pumpkins here, but the one that caught my eye is the green one. It is not only the green I love, but it is also funny, with one tooth and those eyes. I would love to have one permanently on my desk.

From spider web to whales and what not. Take your pick, I bet you can find one you like.

The most obvious one that is calling my name here is the snowman and the orange cutie next to it, whatever it is.

Look at them, how can you not love these two, or maybe three cutie pies? What's interesting here is how they made the snowman and the bee next to it smile. Usually the easiest way to make a snowman is to paint a straight mouth and the work is done, but what's the fun in that, right?

This is an important one, for the green train you see on the top. Those pumpkins are featuring the train that used to work between the villages, mostly taking people to work and back. It wasn't the usual railway, it was smaller and this train's speed was way less than a usual train's speed. It is not in use anymore, as far as i know, or it is just for tourists.

The man with the double bass was also a very good idea, because back in those days, there was no other way to get music, than to make it yourself. This is why so many rudimentary musical instruments exist. Tulips are ancient Hungarian symbol of folk art, you find them on most hand painted furniture and objects. As about the pumpkins, the one I like the most is the one with the sunglasses, covered in canvas.

Noah's ark. Extremely imaginative, but I would have never thought of it.

Grandma and grandpa, little tired, surrounded by a bunch of lovely pumpkins.

Have you ever thought about making a bunny and a bear out of pumpkins? I haven't, but these look lovely.

Look at it! Cuteness at the highest level. Too bad he lost one eye.

I know many of you have never been to such an exhibition and most likely just as many of you don't have pumpkins in your country, so I hope you liked these photos.

A very special art work and shopping,

Indeed.

A good variety and display of some nice transformations of pumpkins. I like the snow man, bunny and bear the most. Only bad thing is it will be quite sometime until I see some pumpkins (for real) again.

The pumpkin season is over, unfortunately. The last season was busy for me and for you too, but I didn't forget about the plan, so let's hope we can do something this year. What do you say? 😀

Of course I'll be in. Now the pressure is on, a long time to think about it, haha

Exactly! You can start drawing your designs and looking for paint as well, if you decide to go for painted pumpkins 😎

Harvest season has always been a favorite time of year. The satisfaction of a year's worth of labor to secure the food necessary for the family to survive. What better way to celebrate all that hard work than a harvest festival. I adore the wagon wheel in the display, and grandpa sure knows how to fill out those jeans😉

Harvest season has always been a favorite time of year.

Mine too, because it's so colorful and it symbolizes wealth at some level as well. My parents told me, there used to be a harvest festival every year, when they were younger. In some cities there still is one, in September or October.
And yes, grandpa looks good 😎😄

What an absolute feast for the eyes @erikah! Some people are so creative, the pumpkin characters are so gorgeous.
Grandpa's face is so full of wrinkles, he doesn't look very happy, but Grandma is the cutest of them all!
Lovely Lovely blog🥰

It was indeed a feast for the eye, there were so many amazing pumpkins you could hardly choose a favorite.

Grandpa was angry for some reason, but grandma knows how to handle life and grandpa as well 😉

Thank you for stopping by my dear Lizelle and have a nice week 😘

💞

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

an amazing show, i have never seen a festival like this. This fruit is decorated very similar to a doll. If my daughter comes there, she will definitely cry and ask for the pumpkin doll. Because my daughter really likes dolls.
Thank you, friend @erika, for sharing your experience there.

Of course, children really like festivals like the ones in your place.

thanks again buddy. I also wish you a happy weekend far away :))

You’re so lucky to have pumpkin like that. And attend such exhibitions. I hope they have here in our country but I know that’s impossible. Thank you for showing us your experience of how the pumpkins designed in a different way.

I am lucky indeed, because we have so many exhibitions and events for free, all year round.

Meet grandpa

I think he is just a grumpy old man haha Fun post. The goofy little green one was my favorite.

I know you have good taste 😆
