It's been more than a month since the war started and a lot has happened since then. Our blockchain has been affected as we had and still have people in Ukraine, right in the war zone. We, as a community have been through tough times before, when we had to fight for our freedom and can say we did well as we've not only gained our independence but also have been thriving ever since.
However, this is a different situation as it doesn't affect the whole blockchain directly, only a part of it, but regardless, the power of the community has been tested. The result is absolutely amazing and I'm going to write about that in details on another occasion.
Today I'd like to share a video with you, that has been made and published by the Polish guys from Hive. In this video, another Hive member, @blind-spot is sharing his journey, starting from how he has landed in Ukraine, how he has been forced to leave, as well as what he has been through till he got to Poland.
He has published a few blog posts since he landed in Poland, but a blog post can't be compared to a 2h video, so if you're interested in how life has been for him in the past (almost) 10 years, feel free to watch the video. Since the video, he posted another post, in which he detailed his staying in Poland.
Although his story is a sad one (and everybody else's, who's been affected by the war), I think this is a success story. I know it doesn't look like it as he has lost everything he's been working for and his future is still in the air at this point, but even so, he is not alone. He has a blockchain standing besides him, helping in many ways. Even though most of us are very far there are ways to help and there are others in Poland, who have jumped in right away to help, offering him a place to stay and much more. It is evident from the video that they made friends with him and that friendship will last forever.
Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that our community can be so strong. Total strangers coming together to help people they have never met before is not something to neglect, not by far.
He has a long way ahead of him and things are uncertain at this point, but I like to think that wherever life takes him, there will always be someone to help him with some information at least, if not more.
This video is part of history now and we have the Polish guys to thank for it. I'd like to say thank you to everyone who's been helping in this case and the other cases. Let's stick together and help those in need.
It still feels unbelievable, the entire thing. Community members of hive blockchain where KYC doesn't exist, finding ways to trust each other, connecting with each other from around the globe, financially and emotionally helping each other. This is not just my story, but all the Ukrainian Hive users who needed help. Hive was and is there for all of them. source
This says it all.
@blind-spot is set as beneficiary of this post, so 100% of the rewards will go to him at payout.
