Behold, Bohol! The friendly heart of Visayas and one of the most attractive destinations that make up the Philippines.
As someone who lives in Mindanao (the southern part of the Philippines), it is my dream to visit the tourist destination that I usually see in the books and that is the Chocolate Hills in Bohol (the middle part of the country). I wanted to witness the hills in real-life once again. I have visited Bohol before when I was still working in a private school institution during our field trip. Furthermore, I am hoping that I will wake up one day with this comforting view again.
Until a piece of positive news came that my circle decided to choose Bohol on our next trip. It was gratifying news knowing that I want to visit the place so much once more.
Around November last week of last year, we visited Bohol. Even though the weather was not good, we were still excited to witness the hills. While we were on our way, I could see the hills already. I was so happy. I was so excited to climb up the hill also and witness the hills with my naked eye again.
But then as we started climbing the stairs, I could feel the tiredness of my leg. I rest from time to time because there are still a lot of stairs to go, and as we reached the summit, it was a big relief. I can't deny also that as I saw the view, I was amazed at it. Even if it was a foggy day around the hills, it still looks pleasing to the eyes.
The climb was all worth it.
After I witnessed the view, all my stress vanished. I stared at the view for so long. Loving it, a lot. I even took a photo with the hills in the background.
As we stayed there more, the sky turns gray and gave us a hint that it will rain, and a few minutes after that, it rained. But it never stopped me to take a photo around.
Chocolate Hills is truly captivating. Even if it was surrounded by fogs that day, it's still so beautiful, like what I have seen before. If given a chance to visit it again, I will truly take it.
Bohol, you are truly wonderful. I can't wait to see you again soon.
