¡Hola Chicos!
Desde el mes de marzo hemos estado trabajando con el evento Convinarte. Es una actividad que creamos en conjunto mi compañera Elieska y yo. Se trata de una actividad en la que las personas van a recrear una pintura pinto previamente para que ellos puedan recrear en sus lienzos.
Elegir una obra es complicadísimo, pues aunque yo puedo ponerme el reto de hacer cualquiera que encuentre en Pinterest, debo encontrar algo que puedan hacer los participantes que en su mayoría no tienen conocimientos previos.
Vi muchas referencias de personas que trabajan con actividades similares para tener una idea de lo que podía ponerlos a pintar, pero la verdad no me sentía identificada con ninguna de esas temáticas.
Hasta que me crucé las obras de una chica que trabaja con cuadros abstractos. Me pareció ideal hacer algo similar para esta ocasión, pues todos podían ponerle un toque personal a su cuadro y claro, utilizando los mismos colores para que todos se asemejaran al original.

Since March we have been working with the event Convinarte. It is an activity that my partner Elieska and I created together. It is an activity in which people are going to recreate a previously painted painting so that they can recreate it on their canvases.
Choosing a work is very complicated, because although I can challenge myself to do any one that I find on Pinterest, I have to find something that the participants can do, most of them have no previous knowledge.
I saw many references of people who work with similar activities to get an idea of what I could put them to paint, but the truth is that I did not feel identified with any of those themes.
Until I came across the works of a girl who works with abstract paintings. It seemed ideal to do something similar for this occasion, because everyone could put a personal touch to her painting and of course, using the same colors so that they all resembled the original.
Antes de hacer el lienzo grande que se llevaría al evento, armé la idea en un pequeño lienzo que hice con cartón y tela de lona. Así tendría una idea más clara de lo que haría en el lienzo final, sin dejar espacio a los errores y la improvisación.
Tenía mucho tiempo sin pintar, por lo que quise hacerlo como lo harían las personas en la actividad, con el caballete y el lienzo en vertical, así tendría una mejor idea de como se sentirían durante la actividad.
Tracé las líneas de base con lápiz y luego comencé a pensar la distribución de los colores. La idea era utilizarlos todos.
Before making the big canvas that would be taken to the event, I put together the idea on a small canvas that I made with cardboard and canvas fabric. This way I would have a clearer idea of what I would do on the final canvas, leaving no room for mistakes and improvisation.
I had a long time without painting, so I wanted to do it as the people in the activity would do it, with the easel and the canvas vertically, so I would have a better idea of how they would feel during the activity.
I traced the base lines with pencil and then started to think about the distribution of the colors. The idea was to use them all.
No sabía por donde empezar así que tomé el primer color que se me cruzó, que en este caso sería el verde oscuro.
Pinté las primeras secciones, tratando de agregar un poco de ese color en cada rincón del lienzo.
I didn't know where to start so I took the first color that came my way, which in this case would be dark green.
I painted the first sections, trying to add a little bit of that color in every corner of the canvas.
Ya luego lo pensé un poco mejor y tomé un naranja. Al igual que el verde fui agregando un poco por aquí y otro por allá.
Then I thought about it a little better and took an orange. Just like the green I added a little bit here and a little bit there.
Así fui con mucha paciencia pintando y agregando cada vez más colores, procurando no colocar secciones del mismo color cerca una de la otra.
El cuadro prometía ser sencillo pero una vez que comencé a tapar las partes blancas no le veía fin jajaja.
Por más que agregara color seguían muchos espacios vacíos. Pero esto no me mortificó, procuré disfrutarme todo el proceso y lo hice con calma.
So I was patiently painting and adding more and more colors, trying not to place sections of the same color close to each other.
The painting promised to be simple but once I started to cover the white parts I could see no end hahaha.
No matter how much color I added, there were still many empty spaces. But this didn't bother me, I tried to enjoy the whole process and I did it calmly.
A medida que agregaba los colores el cuadro iba tomando mejor forma. Comenzaba a lucir como lo imaginé.
Así terminé de pintar todas las partes blancas y ya solo quedaron unas que pensaba dejarlas sin pintura pues eran unos ojos.
Ya luego era momento de agregar detalles en negro y finalmente otros en blanco.
As I added the colors the picture was taking better shape. It was starting to look like I imagined it.
So I finished painting all the white parts and there were only a few parts left that I thought I would leave unpainted because they were eyes.
Then it was time to add details in black and finally others in white.
Agregando estos pequeños detellos, líneas y puntos con blanco, negro y otros colores como amarillo y fucsia logré algo genial.
Habían muchas cosas que sentía debía mejorar, pero estas son exigencias personales. La verdad el cuadro lucía bastante llamativo, cosa que era lo que quería lograr, y también dejaba esa parte para que las personas dejaran volar su imaginación.
Esto jugó un poco en contra el día del evento pues muchos dudaron mucho al momento de comenzar pero poco a poco lograron desarrollar sus ideas y lograr un resultado espectacular. ♥
Es el primer cuadro de nuestro evento, que inclusive recibimos propuestas de personas que quisieran comprarlo, aunque en realidad no tengo por los momentos intenciones de ponerlo en venta.
Ya veremos en un futuro que ocurre con ellos, por los momentos seguirán siendo míos. 😊
By adding these little details, lines and dots with white, black and other colors like yellow and fuchsia I achieved something great.
There were many things I felt I needed to improve, but these are personal demands. The truth is that the painting looked quite striking, which is what I wanted to achieve, and it also left that part for people to let their imagination run wild.
This played against me a bit on the day of the event as many people were very hesitant to start but little by little they managed to develop their ideas and achieve a spectacular result. ♥
This is the first painting of our event, and we even received proposals from people who wanted to buy it, although I don't really have any intention of selling it at the moment.
We'll see in the future what happens with them, for the moment they will remain mine. 😊
