I say this because of something that happened this Monday and for which I will be grateful for the rest of my life. Now I tell you.
It turns out that yesterday, Monday, I was visited by a couple of friends that I had not seen for quite some time and that I was very happy to have visit me. They studied with me in junior high school and high school. You can imagine how many stories were between us. In our conversations we talked about our first friends, the teachers who helped us the most and the ones we didn't understand very much. We took the opportunity to talk about our first love affairs and all that this beautiful stage of our lives taught us.
Meanwhile her husband was going on and on about his new job and all that he was learning, to join something he had been told was called Hive. I started laughing and when she asked me why I was laughing I told her that I had been in that ecosystem for two months and my husband had been there too, but he had been there much longer.
As expected my friends had lunch at the house. One of the characteristics of Cubans is that we are very hospitable and no matter how hard the conditions and situations of life are, we share the little we have. So, between laughter, stories and reunion with a friend from our teenage years and her husband, we enjoyed a lunch that we thought was the best in a long time. And it's not that it was something special what we ate, what was special was the love with which we toasted it.
However, the best was yet to come. We are both guajiras, rural women, peasants from the east of the country and, in this part of the Cuban geography, a good cup of coffee is a must. That is what we used to toast our meeting and celebrate the lunch we ate.
It was a very nice and special evening. No need to prepare it or organize it so much. It came about just as the visit was: unexpected and spontaneous. Sometimes these are the activities that are best for us. Or, it must be that love and camaraderie prevailed between them and me.
As we were about to have coffee, a friend of my husband's and mine came to see him, but he was unable to see him because he was working. However, he stayed with us to toast our meeting.
Before leaving, there was an invitation to return the visit, but it had to be with my husband, so that the conversation would be even and include other topics of conversation, something that should not be missing is another cup of coffee to share.
The photos were taken with my Samsung Galaxy cell phone and the translator used was Deepl Translate.
