¿Son los números la respuesta a todo?
Hola amigos de CineTv. Esta es mi entrada al concurso de la comunidad (Concurso aquí). Lo haré con una película que me resultó verdaderamente interesante. Se trata de Divergente. Entre los géneros, usted encontrará acción, romance y ciencia ficción. Fue dirigida por Neil Burger (El Ilusionista) y estrenada el 21 de marzo de 2014. Basada en la trilogía de Verónica Roth te hará reflexionar durante 2 horas y 19 minutos.
Los números en la película tienen un papel importante, ya que en esta sociedad, los ciudadanos se dividen en cinco facciones: Verdad, Abnegación, Osadía, Cordialidad y Erudición. Cada grupo representa un conjunto de valores y particularidades, donde los números se utilizan para clasificar a las personas según su decisión durante la ceremonia de selección.
El filme, sigue la historia de Beatrice Prior (Shailene Woodley) quien al cumplir los 16 años debe elegir su facción en base a la virtud que posea. Este momento es crucial y marcado por el número 16 que representa la transición a la adultez y la toma de decisiones. No obstante, No es fácil para ella, pues es divergente, así que debe afrontar su condición. La disposición de Beatrice de dejar su vida en Abnegación y unirse a Osadía, es considerado un acto de rebeldía, ya que desafía las normas numéricas de la sociedad. En Osadía Beatrice será llamada Tris y conocerá nuevos amigos como Cuatro (Theo James). A medida que trascure la historia, la protagonista descubre las verdaderas intenciones de la erudita Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet) de eliminar a todos los divergentes de la ciudad. ¿Pero qué los hace tan peligrosos? Bueno, la respuesta a esta pregunta es lo que intentarán descubrir Tris y Cuatro antes de que sea demasiado tarde.
Los números en esta producción también juegan un papel en la clasificación de las pruebas de aptitud, donde los resultados determinan la relación de cada individuo con las facciones. Este sistema numérico es un reflejo de cómo la lógica y la razón pueden influir en las soluciones más emocionales y humanas, como la búsqueda de identidad y pertenencia.
Personalmente, me gustan los números 6, 7 y 8, pero si fuera a elegir solo uno, sería el 7 ya que se le asocia con la suerte y la perfección; aunque, prefiero las palabras a los números ya que con las palabras se pueden contar historias y evocar emociones. En Divergente, el número 7 podría simbolizar la búsqueda del equilibrio entre la lógica y las emociones, un tema que se trata a lo largo de toda la historia.
Aquí, la cinematografía juega un papel súper importante en la creación de la atmósfera distópica. Recordando un poco, me encantaron las tomas aéreas que se hicieron. Sin embargo, lo primero que me vine a la mente cuando me preguntan qué es lo que más me gusta de este filme, son las actuaciones de los protagonistas y el magnífico guión que es medio filosófico.
En fin, he escogido Divergente para el concurso porque se utilizan los número como una herramienta para explorar temas profundos como lo son la identidad, elección y rebeldía. Esta película nos muestra cómo la lógica de la sociedad espera algo de nosotros que realmente no somos.

Hello CineTv friends. This is my entry to the community contest (Contest here). I will do it with a movie that I found really interesting. It is Divergent. Among the genres, you will find action, romance and science fiction. It was directed by Neil Burger (The Illusionist) and released on March 21, 2014. Based on the trilogy by Veronica Roth it will make you think for 2 hours and 19 minutes.
Numbers in the film play an important role, as in this society, citizens are divided into five factions: Truth, Abnegation, Daring, Cordiality and Erudition. Each group represents a set of values and particularities, where numbers are used to rank people according to their decision during the selection ceremony.
The film follows the story of Beatrice Prior (Shailene Woodley) who, upon turning 16, must choose her faction based on the virtue she possesses. This moment is crucial and marked by the number 16 which represents the transition to adulthood and decision making. However, it is not easy for her, as she is divergent, so she must confront her condition. Beatrice's willingness to leave her life in Abnegation and join Osadia is considered an act of rebellion, as she defies the numerical norms of society. In Osadia Beatrice will be called Tris and will meet new friends such as Four (Theo James). As the story transcends, the protagonist discovers the true intentions of the scholar Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet) to eliminate all the divergent people in town. *But what makes them so dangerous? Well, the answer to that question is what Tris and Four will try to find out before it's too late.
The numbers in this production also play a role in the ranking of aptitude tests, where the results determine each individual's relationship to the factions. This number system is a reflection of how logic and reason can influence the most emotional and human solutions, such as the search for identity and belonging.
Personally, I like the numbers 6, 7 and 8, but if I were to choose just one, it would be 7 as it is associated with luck and perfection; although, I prefer words to numbers as with words you can tell stories and evoke emotions. In Divergent, the number 7 could symbolize the search for balance between logic and emotions, a theme that runs throughout the story.
Here, cinematography plays a super important role in creating the dystopian atmosphere. Thinking back a bit, I loved the aerial shots that were taken. However, the first thing that came to my mind when asked what I like most about this film, are the performances of the protagonists and the magnificent script that is half philosophical.
Anyway, I have chosen Divergent for the contest because it uses numbers as a tool to explore deep themes such as identity, choice and rebellion. This movie shows us how the logic of society expects something from us that we are not.
