This is another wonderful Sunday to create a new thing, I welcome you all to my blog and I wish you all a prosperous new week.
Today I will be trying out coated peanut burger, this is my first time trying it, actually, I am not a fan of peanuts but I wish to try something new because I have people around me who are addicted to peanuts so I decided to do it as a snack for the house.
Ingredients used
Groundnut
Flour
Eggs
Sugar
Powdered milk
Salt
STEP 1
I started washing the groundnut with warm water and salt, I used the raw groundnut, then I left it to soak for five minutes before draining the water and spread under the sun, it took about one hour to be properly dried.
STEP 2
After drying then I bring out my ingredients and measure them, I am making use of two cups of groundnut so I decided to use one cup and half of flour, I used three eggs but it didn't finish it, so I will advise you to use either one or two if you are trying it out.
I added powdered milk to the flour and salt and mixed it with my spoon, On another plate I broke the eggs and added sugar, whisking them together until the sugar was dissolved, this process doesn't take much time but the coated part is where the work started. Most people do add vanilla flavor to it but I decided to skip that part because I did not have that at home and I can not get it in my area.
STEP 3
The next step is to start coating the peanut, the peanut will be sticky at this time because of the sugar I added to the egg but I have to take my time to separate them, the first thing is to use your tablespoon and add a bit of the egg mixture into the peanut and shake together, allow the mixture to move around the peanuts before adding your mixed flour on it, after adding the flour then shake it very well so that all the peanuts will get coated.
I repeated this process until I was satisfied with the coating then I sieved the excess flour with my strainer, then moved on to frying.
STEP 4
I placed the frying pan on the gas and reduced it to the lowest level, low heat because I wanted the peanuts to cook at the same time to fry, so I reduced it to the lowest level, I added one peanut to see if the oil was hot and it gave me the sign so I added some of the coated peanuts into the oil and use my cooking soon to turn it at the interval to avoid burning.
So this is the end of my peanut and it came out nice despite being my first attempt.
