We plant peppers at home

in #hive-140635last year
Hello everyone! this is my first time writing in this great community and the truth is that I am very excited, since my husband Pawel and I decided to sow or germinate chili or peppers, I could not wait for the first ones to start growing to be able to show you and finally the day came. It is very nice to see how they are growing and it is an activity that, since it requires work and patience, can be done as a couple so you can share time together.

I don't know how we decided to start planting chili peppers, but without a doubt it was my husband's idea, he had planted them before and then one day in the hypermarket we went to the garden area and bought a few packets of seeds because they didn't have much variety there, among them: jalapeño, harvey and cayenne, we also planted basil because we love pizza, sometimes we prepare it at home and we like to add some leaves to the pizza.

We bought those seeds on January 9th, but we were not going to germinate them yet because as we were in winter in Poland we needed to buy an electric blanket and we also wanted to buy other chili seeds (which we finally bought later) such as seeds of buena mulata, tabasco, anaheim, thai, among others, so for now we started with the seeds we had. Then when we had everything ready we put the seeds in napkins, folded them, added a little water, put them in small plastic bags and put them on top of the blanket and now we waited for germination.

As you can see, we used some markers or plaques to name and recognize later which bell pepper it is and when they started to germinate (which was very exciting) we put them in small containers with compost and added water. Oh I forgot to tell you that we also arranged a place at home with a big LED lamp so that they would get the necessary warmth as it was very cold in Poland. Behind you can see our basil. So the picture you see below was taken on January 29th.

In some the germination was slower and others were faster, then we realized that the green container was too small and we decided to put the other seeds that were just starting to germinate in white plastic cups and the others that were getting bigger and bigger we moved them to small plastic pots. The photos below are from February 21st and while transplanting we realized that they had a lot of roots.

Every day we checked to see how much they had grown and the two photos below are from March 2. Of course the LED light was programmed to be on for only a few hours.

By March 16 they were bigger and some were transplanted into porcelain pots, but later we would have to change because they would be too small for our big chili plants.

By April 8, the first small chili peppers were already growing and other plants were getting bigger and bigger.

On April 17 we already had to start transplanting into larger pots because as I said they were already too small and they see the incredible amount of roots.

And by May 13 we already saw several large chili peppers like the jalapeño and others, and as we had already transplanted a couple of times we lost the names and some of them we still do not recognize what they are hahaha but when I find out I will let you know. As you can see some of the plants had nice white flowers.

I don't know if I told you but below on the right you can see the paprika that I decided to sow with some paprika seeds that I had in the fridge because I really love the flavor that this gives to the food, besides now pregnant I will not be able to enjoy the other peppers that will soon be ready because they are very spicy, but I really loved this experience in couple that without a doubt I recommend them to you. I hope you liked it, see you in a future post. Here are some last pictures today of some of our ajíces. Greetings!

The plants are beautiful, what a joy to be able to harvest paprika and use it for seasonal food, I hope you have many more harvests!
Thank you very much for sharing, a hug!

Amiga yes, they are gorgeous and so are the chili peppers. I got very excited about the paprika and can't wait to use it in meals. Thanks to you for commenting. Love to you!

What a wonderful job Eve, it is very nice to plant little plants at home and take care of them and see them grow, nothing more satisfying than harvesting from your own garden to eat at home, all the little plants are beautiful and although I don't like chili peppers, they look very pretty and call the attention

Although I was never a fan of plants, I must say that for some time now, planting has made me fall in love jsjaja.
I love to see the process from seed to fruit. They are beautiful my friend

Amiga, I was never a fan of plants myself but after finishing these ajices I fell in love with the process, the plants and the flowers.
