Magnolia flower bw 9.jpg

I like all kids of wildflowers and weeds that bloom around. They are pretty and humble and are very much unappreciated. Many of them are as nice, or even nicer than the fancy ones sold in shops.

But this...
This is another level. This is just royal elegance in my book. And yes, I like it too :)

This is Miss Magnolia and it has been growing in our garden for many, many years. Not without setbacks when it didn't like the weather or cold or was disturbed too much. But it is growing, and every year it is getting bigger.

The flowers appear in spring before the tree grows the leaves. So for a few weeks, its just those giant, tulip like flowers in the most adorable blush pink colour and nothing else. Only after the flowers slowly start to fade do the leaves start to show up.

I remember when the tree was tiny and had only a couple of flowers. It was such an excitement to see them open. Even just a few. Now there are hundreds of them and you can see how packed they are.

I managed to catch some nice bokeh too. The Sigma lens I was using is pretty good at it and the trees behind helped a lot with catching the bubbles.

So elegant! <3

Yes, Magnolias are part of the royalty of the garden, although I also like wild flowers, these flowers are unbeatable
I like how these flowers look even without the colors @ewkaw

I love magnolias, they are edible, and I like them with cheese and membrillo as a starter. They have a mild citrusy spice flavour. The tree produces loads of them, too much to consume, haha! but very beautiful to look at. The darker ones have a stronger flavour.😊💗

Magnolia is truly elegant, watching flowers open up feels like a magical experience. These photos are so beautiful

I like to see flowers in gardens... I don't like to be given flowers, either cut from the garden or bought. If I get a walk to look at them, that's royalty, another level. 😉

Very nice pictures!

Yes, just like me my brother @ewkaw, I also really like wild flowers, many types and varied, if at the time of bloom certainly makes me fall in love with them, today you show some beautiful portraits of this beautiful flower.
Cool..... 👍😍

Dear friend, these photos are really amazing. I enjoy this art and taste

Miss Magnolia is indeed elegant! You managed to capture her beauty splendidly. ♥

Good morning dear friend @ewkaw
how beautiful these magnolia flowers look in black and white
I admire your monochrome shots
Have a lovely weekend

Aww these plants are spectacular! 😍 Here in Vigo there are several trees of them in a park, but they only bloom in February and for a short time. It is a pity because they are so beautiful that they should bloom all year round. 🌸

By the way, they look beautiful in black and white too! What great images! 👍

Your appreciation for wildflowers and weeds is beautifully expressed, and your admiration for Miss Magnolia is truly touching. The way you describe its growth and resilience over the years, despite weather challenges, highlights the enduring beauty and elegance of nature. Capturing the bokeh with your Sigma lens has enhanced the charm of this moment. Thank you for sharing this visually stunning account of your beloved magnolia!🥰🌷
