I am so grateful for the modern cameras where we can shoot and shoot and not worry about the amount of photos (as long as your card allows it). I would be so frustrated with film cameras, and the more I appreciate someone who actually uses them to shoot moving objects.
I have wasted so many shots on this little guy here! He just wouldn't sit still, and the focus wasn't fast enough to catch him.
I was admiring the huge bush of pink pelargoniums. The setting sun was giving such nice light. And then I spotted the fat white butt :)
Oh yes... bumblebee!
They are like flying teddy bears with their round, furry bodies. Adorable creatures (not like the nasty beetles from this post :p)
And even though they are slower and bigger than bees, when they are in a hurry to eat as much as possible before the night, they can play hard to get. I had to use my zoom lens here to be able to catch them from the middle of the bush (it was huge!). I would not be able to get this close with my regular macro lens.
Here is a nice sequence of 4 photos one after another. You can see how he was inspecting those flowers one by one.
Most of the photos were like this 👇. Not counting the completely out of focus ones :p
Shot with Nikon D5500 + Tamron 70-300mm lens
