Hi @exptrader here from northern Germany,

it's not too long ago and I wrote this post about Warhammer40k Dreadnoughts
https://peakd.com/hive-189497/@exptrader/the-warhammer40k-dreadnoughts-a-overview

and the question "if I forgot to mention some Dreadnoughts" was of course answered very quickly by @zakludick

To be fair, I would have expected more forgotten dreadnoughts

If you have read my last post and now this post, a question will come to your mind:

" What is the difference between Redemptor Dread and the Ballistus Dread ? "

The answer follows at the same time:

While both the Ballistus Dreadnought and the Redemptor Dreadnought share a similar aesthetic, they have notable differences in terms of design, weaponry, and role on the battlefield. Here's a breakdown of the key distinctions between the two:

Ballistus Dreadnought

  1. Role:

Fire Support: The Ballistus Dreadnought is primarily designed for long-range fire support. It excels at providing heavy firepower from a distance, making it effective against enemy infantry and vehicles.

  1. Armament:

Long-Range Weapons: The Ballistus Dreadnought is equipped with long-range weaponry, such as twin-linked heavy bolters or other heavy weapons suitable for engaging targets at a distance.

  1. Design:

Sleek and Compact: The Ballistus Dreadnought has a relatively streamlined and compact design, emphasizing its role as a mobile gun platform.

Redemptor Dreadnought

  1. Role:

Versatile Assault: The Redemptor Dreadnought is designed to be a versatile and heavily armed assault unit. It can handle both ranged and close combat situations, making it adaptable on the battlefield.

  1. Armament:

Mixed Weapons: The Redemptor Dreadnought carries a mix of weaponry, including heavy weapons for ranged combat and powerful melee weapons for close-quarters engagements.

  1. Design:

Bulkier and Heavier: The Redemptor Dreadnought has a bulkier and more heavily armored appearance compared to the Ballistus Dreadnought. It's built to withstand enemy fire while delivering devastating attacks in return.

In summary, while both Dreadnought variants share a similar appearance, the Ballistus Dreadnought is specialized for long-range fire support, whereas the Redemptor Dreadnought is a more versatile unit capable of handling various battlefield scenarios, including both ranged and melee combat. Players often choose between them based on their army's needs and strategic preferences.

And in my case, I asked: Why not both? Or more?!

I have both a Battistus and a Redemptor Dreadnought in my 2000pts army I play at tournaments.

If that fit in your strategy, its okay😁

4 Dreadnought certainly fit in my plans! lol
