Moin exptrader here, written from the Scottish coast
let's start with the introduction and the reason for this post with a quote I read in a forum
"The Warhammer figures are cheapest in Sweden"
This made me wonder how prices are generally distributed around the world. Since I'm trapped here on the ship anyway, I took the trouble to check the prices
I would like to emphasize that I have left out the shipping costs, as I am of the opinion that it is definitely not worth it. Unless you order in large quantities.
I have selected the following countries for my research
Germany
Taiwan
South Africa
Sweden
UK
America
So that you don't have to dig out the currency converter, I have written the prices in the current world currency, the US dollar.
And for absolute certainty, here are the websites where I looked
Germany
https://www.kutami.de/
Taiwan
https://www.whitedragongaming.com/?fbclid=IwAR1cJxoh6ZIXdKcBEnMJqFUyt6kjewcYIXSD9dqKSnMwO7ZaA3sT34giNFY
South Africa

Sweden

Remark: Yes it is a Danish site but since Denmark is close to Sweden and the prices in Scandinavia are almost the same, you have to believe me here at this point
UK

America

Lets go
Let's start our price analysis with the Space Marines: Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought
So that I don't write such long texts, I'll just write the countries and the sum on them. I'm curious to see how big the difference is
Germany
48 USD
Taiwan
68 USD
South Africa
51 USD
Sweden
56 USD
UK
45 USD
America
63 USD
The prize winner here is England with USD 45, closely followed by the Germans with USD 48
The most expensive price is Taiwan with 68 USD
The statement that Sweden is cheaper here is not true.
But let's see if we can find out something different with another model
Let's see how the TAU Combat Patrol performs
Germany
108 USD
Taiwan
145 USD
South Africa
99 USD
Sweden
104 USD
The original site dont have the CP: TAU. so i found a swedish local onlineshop
https://www.spelochsant.se/produkt/gamesworkshop/warhammer40k/startcollecting/warhammer40kcombatpatroltauempire
UK
96 USD
America
136 USD
Here, too, England has the cheaper price range at USD 96, followed by South Africa at USD 99
The two most expensive are Taiwan and America (once again)
We realize it makes a difference what kind of Warhammer models you buy. It is of course very unfavorable if you live in a country where the Tau is overpriced and the one in England has twice the number of units
But we are not giving up and are looking at another model
Germany
43,50 USD
Taiwan
Not available in Taiwan
South Africa
43 USD
Sweden
47 USD
UK
38 USD
America
51 USD
As you might expect, England is the cheapest country here too. South Africa and Germany are Space Wolves friendly and it hardly makes a difference.
Taiwan doesn't seem to think much of Wulfen, I couldn't find this model on any other Taiwanese site either.
But we can say that collecting Warhammer figures in America is very cost intensive. I almost feel sorry for the guys over there.
Let's take a look at another model
This time we take to the skies and take a look at the Deathwatch Corvus
Germany
61 USD
Taiwan
80 USD
South Africa
63 USD
Sweden
64 USD
UK
56 USD
America
76 USD
Remark: in this site exist a discount and the OVP was 90 USD !!!
South America, Germany and Sweden are not much different and of course the UK store is the cheapest.
We can already say that the statement "In Sweden it is the cheapest refute "
What really surprises me is that the prices in Taiwan and America are very high.
This can of course have different factors: Customs, taxes, inflation etc
I know in any case that I will probably order my things from England, but only if I want to have several things. I will definitely keep an eye on the German and English prices.
Overall, it's important to really pay attention to how much you're paying. I think you can save money and buy one or two paints or brushes from the rest.
What did you think of the article, did anything surprise you or was it foreseeable?
I would be very happy to receive feedback
