Hello Coffee and Tea lovers!
Last Sunday night, I had the opportunity to visit this cafe, which is located on 5th Avenue corner Bonifacio High Street in the heart of Bonifacio Global City (BGC). What is the cafe's name? Because Coffee by Harlan + Holden, a fashion label.
The cafe is a cashless coffee shop where you can order your coffee ahead of time. All you have to do is download their app and you're done! In less than thirty minutes, you can have your coffee. Even ordering at the counter is simple: simply click on their tab, pay with your card, and your coffee will be ready in less than 10 minutes.
Let's move on to their physical store.
They have a clean minimalist theme that gives the impression that the café is almost empty if there aren't many customers, However, the cafe was full that night. There are no large coffee machines or a display chiller for pastries. They have a community table with a large tree as the centerpiece, which is encased in a glass that resembles a large aquarium. Even the table setting is so plain that if you're looking for something fresh to see or something new to enjoy, you'll be disappointed. I guess I'm not the minimalist kind, that I find the location uninteresting. However, if you are going there for a meeting, or meeting someone for an important business, I think the place will be just right for you as you can focus on your meeting and there'll be no distractions.
What about their coffee?
I had their dark roast blend hot butterscotch latte, which tasted really good but was a little sugary for my liking. My niece requested a cold house blend sea salt latte, which he stated was his favorite, so I gave it a try. The flavor is pleasant, not overpowering, but I do find it a little sweet. You can also select your bean preference: light roast, medium roast, dark roast, or decaf. Their menu has piqued my attention to the point where I want to try everything on the menu. Isn't it interesting that they call their coffees by that name? That campfire coffee and the thirsty squirrel are the next that I'll try ordering.
Even their coffee art is so neat!
Pastries!
They don't have a lot of pastries, and if you just look at them, you might think the cookies are a little dry. You can ask for it to be warmed up and realize that it isn't dry at all, but rather moist and delicious. The chocolate chip walnut cookie and the double chocolate cookie were our choices. Both are delicious, and I will order them again if the opportunity arises.
Is it reasonably priced?
The butterscotch latte that I got cost Php145 ($3) for a medium-size cup, which is slightly less expensive than the other cafés I visited. Their cookies cost Php100 ($2) per order, which I believe is a fair price for the size and taste.
Will I return to the cafe?
Yes, I will. The sweetness of the coffee can be alleviated by requesting that the sugar be reduced. I may grow tired of their cafe's appearance, but what matters is the quality of their coffee and the friendliness of their staff.
