It's been a wonderful week for me, i hope you all are having a wonderful time as i am. I can't seem to miss this weeks splinterlands art contest as i have prepared a beautiful graphite drawing for the contest already. I would be sharing with you all a graphite drawing i did of the splinterlands character Giant Squid. Which i love the way it was expressed, it has a king of gruesome face, like its waiting to devour someone or something. Giant Squid are no doubt dangerous and deadly with there large and long tentacles.

Above is the reference of the image the essence of making this drawing is not to drawing out the character i whole but to make an impression of the character itself which i happened to find interesting. Drawing has become like an addiction for me I've always wanted to do something like this. I did the rough sketch using a 2B pencil at first to get a sketch look of the image in question be for diving in with my heavy gun (10B Bianyo pencil).
You may wonder why a 10B pencil well it just darker and easier to control plus i love the texture it gives my art works. So after the sketch i used my 10B pencil on the image starting from the eyes. Note that the rough sketch is not permanent so you can change any things when you begin. I did the eyes some tentacles the whole head and completed the image it was supposed to be a quick one though but it took some time to fit in the details. I had so much fun making this drawing gained more experience and I'm happy i can be part of this weeks contest.
