Esta es una introducción bastante simple, básicamente como estoy muy ocupado con mis proyectos personales de bioconstrucción y con muy poco tiempo para poder estar activo en la comunidad por lo que me doy unas vueltas de vez en cuando dejando algunos comentarios por acá y por allá, voy a intentar mostrarles nuestros progresos de a poco, espero que para quienes les parezca interesante el trabajo con Bambú y quieran preguntar o simplemente recomendar serán bienvenidos todos, incluso si hay algo que no te guste dentro de este post.

This is a fairly simple introduction, basically since I am very busy with my personal bioconstruction projects and with very little time to be active in the community so I take a few steps from time to time leaving some comments here and there, I will try to show you our progress little by little, I hope that for those who find it interesting to work with Bamboo and want to ask or simply recommend*
Antes de empezar, un árbol de cientos de años en Costa Rica.
Bueno vamos a lo concreto, después de nuestra cosecha para la construcción, tenemos una ardua tarea que es limpiar y mantener el bambú en buen estado para llegar con nuestro material al 100% disponible. No se trata solo de cortar y construir, es un largo proceso que conlleva tiempo y paciencia, como todo lo orgánico en la vida.
Trajimos nuestro material ya cosechado y curado a la propiedad. Una vez realizado ese trabajo empieza lo divertido, limpiar el bambú. Aunque una técnica primaria es hacerlo con agua y esponja (para quitar los hongos y suciedad), nosotros vamos un poco más allá y lo hacemos mediante una máquina a presión de agua, las cañas son largas y al tener mucha cantidad se hace muy lento y poco efectivo realizarlo manual. Abajo voy a dejarles una imagen del material recién traído a la finca.
Well, let's go to the concrete, after our harvest for construction, we have an arduous task that is to clean and keep the bamboo in good condition to reach 100% available with our material. It's not just about cutting and building, it's a long process that takes time and patience, like everything organic in life.
We brought our already harvested and cured material to the property. Once that work is done, the fun begins, clean the bamboo. Although a primary technique is to do it with water and sponge (to remove fungi and dirt), we go a little further and do it through a water pressure machine, the rods are long and having a lot it becomes very slow and ineffective to do it manually. Below I am going to leave you an image of the material just brought to the farm.*
Una vez realizado el trabajo de limpieza lo que sigue es ubicar el bambú en una zona donde no esté en contacto con el suelo y tampoco el sol directo, esto depende de la zona donde te encuentres trabajando, en nuestro caso optamos por armar una estructura bajo árboles por que estamos en altura, entonces los rayos del sol son bastantes fuerte, entonces, al contrario del sentido común, no seca más rápido, sino puede que dañar el material y no es lo que buscamos.
Por lo pronto estamos en proceso de espera con esta primera tanda, además de esperar que termine de secar este bambú con los procesos ya hechos. Estamos a la espera de la próxima etapa menguante de la luna que nos permita terminar de cosechar nuestra cantidad deseada para construir.
Once the cleaning work is done, what follows is to place the bamboo in an area where it is not in contact with the ground and neither the direct sun, this depends on the area where you are working, in our case we choose to build a structure under trees because we are at height, then the sun's rays are quite strong, so, unlike common sense, it does not dry faster, but it can damage the material and it is not what we are looking for.
For now we are in the process of waiting with this first batch, in addition to waiting for it to finish drying this bamboo with the processes already done. We are waiting for the next waning stage of the moon that will allow us to finish harvesting our desired amount to build.*
