It's another beautiful time again to bring forth my entry for week 140 edition 2 which focuses on how flexible is my work life. This is a timely theme especially for those of us from Nigeria where most citizens try to build confidence and hope on the little token that comes from the government in the name of salary. Most people that found themselves in such situations find it difficult to plan themselves and make life enjoyable instead spent a lot on the so-called Job without their own personal purpose and pursuit in life.
Flexibility is everyone's desire more so if one has a clear glimpse of his or her direction in life. Flexibility entails the capacity to take charge and make things happen the way it should with ease. Flexibility is very important especially when it comes to work arena. Flexibility gives one the opportunity to explore some latent gifts. The grave has swallowed so many with their untapped potential.
One of the outstanding significance Of flexibility is that it affords one the moment to adjust and invest in other areas instead of wasting time on things that doesn't have much value.
One of the greatest challenge of man I would like to say is the ability to be flexible to accept new changes. I could remember we I newly got wedded to my lovely wife. It took quite sometime to bring balance to a lot of things.
To grow and outweigh certain certain things one must deliberately accept the new changes that occurs to him as elsewhere. Life supposed not to be difficult in area of work but reverse is the case because. To admit any new changes one must be disciplined and focused if not, when trials and temptation comes one could easily triumph over such . We are responsible for the product of any decision we make being it positive or negative. Flexibility entails being free from any oppression. Remember I am not saying that one should be rude to the regulation given. When one is fixed with routine it would be very difficult to altar any personal thing again.
Being flexible at work give one the opportunity to be a master and not only a serve. When I returned from the compulsory one year service, I started looking for job that I could do and get paid so that I can plan my life to get married. My younger sister wanted to secure a job opportunity from one of the famous schools we have in this axis.
Immediately I started reflecting over it, I noticed that I can not work in such organisation because I won't be flexible. It will really tie me down hence I will not be fulfilled in achieving life's goal. Private school can sap one very well. One of my passion and purposes in life is to ensure that I reach out to the unreached with all the available resources. Based on this kind of mandate in life I wouldn't want anything to obstruct me like that. I need freedom so that I work down to any village or community.
There is a teacher in that same school that admires what I do. The schedule in the school wasn't comfortable for him to go out and attend to other cogent needs. He had potential but no ground to breed it because the work is quite demanding. Hmmmm freedom is very important.
One of my major work is blogging which gives me freedom to do other things. I am flexible. I don't sign any attendance. I am self employed.
As a way of general counsel work life ought to be flexible because there's no one that could repay an individual. Employers should be liberal at times to allow their employees to maximise their time and make use of every opportunity. I encourage everyone to think of doing something to add value to humanity. I don't like routine but i believe in innovation and new initiative always. There should be freedom to explore other alternative. One of the sole reasons why Nigerians are dieing for government job so that pension can be guaranteed for them. My question is, you can build your solid retirement strategies? You too can be an employer.
Thanks for reading through.
