Conspiracy theory can be seen in different dimensions however I see it as a situation where individuals or organisations or sectors developed false indices and information about someone in order to achieve a negative goal.
Conspiracy is not a new word. It has existed time immemorial. Conspiracy theory exist in so many facets of life hmmm even family as well.
People for their selfish interest gang up to bring out the worst out of people. It appears as if there are people whose job is just to tarnish the image of another with well cooked and fabricated stories just to gratify their selfish reasons. In worst case scenario they tried to terminate the life of their victims.
We are living in such a time where people can do anything possible to see how they achieve ulterior motive. No one cares how you feel or what could be the aftermath of any selfish decision as long as we feel alright that's all. This has really caused a lot of set backs.
Those that are power drunk uses the theory of conspiracy to make sure they assume the seat of power. Looking deep into the political environment today, it's obvious that some part of the country uses the conspiracy theory to ensure that others don't get to power. To achieve this, they normally come up with lots of propaganda. What you never did is what would be used against you so that you loose relevance and spoil your reputation.
During the primary elections in Nigeria by virtually all the political parties, it was the theory of conspiracy that played out because the highest bidder gets the votes against anyone or the opponent. I remembered how a childhood classmate of mine was rubbed of his political seat because of a false accusation which went viral this affected him. They also delve into any means to ensure that they get into power. This is what I called the pull down syndrome. They pulled with all means so that they get to the top.
Just about two months ago, my childhood friend who is a renounced growing medical doctor was kidnapped. Hmmm most of the kidnapping cases in Nigeria today are cooked stories and conspiracy just to pull one down. The little resources you have would be sapped all in the name of paying Ransome. My was under the custody of his abductors for five days. They initially demanded for 60million naira as Ransome package before later it dropped to less than ten million. What on earth would make you extort from your brother like this? Why must you pull down your brother? We paid 1.6million naira for his release. Hmmm what a conspiracy theory played out.
Characteristics of conspiracy theory
- It constitutes a secretive or hidden forces.
- There are facts or claims that aren't verified.
- Assumption and misinformation are two factors that facilitates this theory.
- Many times there are not substantial evidence.
Some risks or danger of conspiracy theory
- Hmmm it creates unnecessary tension or it incites violence easily.
- It can divert attention or concentration from what is real.

How to get rid of this
- Ensure you verify every evidence or claims against someone.
- Try and go for credible and viable source.
Conspiracy is not good and don't encourage people to subscribe to it.
