Fellow hivers this last year was really a low on everything movies so writing this and getting back on my Underrated Gems feels really good. I have been outside touching grass a lot more, trying to balance my act and be more active, but this i will cover on another post, today i am talking the last cool movie i saw!
Bandit
Bandit is a very straightforward movie, follows a simple 90's way of organizing a movie, the bad, the good and the ugly are clearly perceived soon enough in the movie, this was a real breath of fresh air to me. Seems lately every movie is full of moral lessons or some sort of teaching that i am suppose to care about. Bandit on the other hand carries the simple message of taking responsibility, and that is a pretty good message to convey.
Not getting into many spoilers, the movie is about a bank robber that falls in love and chooses to tell the truth when he gets caught up on his own lies. I think Josh Duhamel delivers a solid lead performance, his character is solid and develops really well in my opinion.
Nestor Carbonell despite being far from being my favourite actor is not a bad on this one and also delivers a good supporting role. Same goes for Mel Gibson and Elisha Cuthbert both with good and solid performances on the support roles.
There are a load of predictable yet funny scenes i cant really go into without ruining it for you readers but safe to say that despite some cheesy bits this one is well worth it.
The other side of the coin...
On the other hand i tried to see a series lately that really sucked ass.
Quantum Leap
Being old and remembering the old Quantum Leap i was really hoping for something worthy but oh boy was i wrong. The diverse and inclusive cast, you guessed it, SUCKS, and i mean it really sucks. On the first episode there is absolutely no charm or a serious engagement with the audience that makes you connect with the characters. All the plot is diluted on each of the characters struggles and that snuffs a lot out of it.
On the later episodes both the lack or more Calavani and the stupid plot twist to distrust Ben and its reasons really makes the all thing even more hard to empathize with... More on this series should have been put towards the background and reasons and also the objectives behind the mission and not only those flat sci fi action episodes. i would give it a 0 if i could, really lame show to avoid at all costs.
That is it folks! all i got for now have a serious list of some 4 or 5 movies to watch this week will keep you posted in case i find something worthy, or very bad! Cheers and thanks for reading me!
