it was
a rowdy coffee shop
we could barely think
about the smallish things
the texture of your skin
the texture of your lips
the coffee came
only after the croissant
but you smiled
as she put the plate
in front of you
a childlike joy
over a baked pastry
but your eyes
lit up with the first bite
like I have never seen before
the crowded place
suddenly became silent
as I could only see your lips
you smiled again
as crumbs fell from your lips
and I smiled back
because what else could I do
in this state of utter perplexion
of how life intervened
so that we could have met
a cliche indeed
but somehow we crossed paths
and became dizzyingly delusional
over a cup of coffee and a croissant
It was a beautiful day, and we could not keep ourselves hidden and locked up in the house. I searched on the internet for a bakery and found the perfect place. Filled with joy, we went for a cup of coffee and some croissants. We could already smell the freshly baked pastries in the air as we parked the car and got out. Like a perfect summer day, we grabbed a couple of chairs in a loud and rowdy coffee shop. Everyone was enjoying life and life was good.
I took the camera with me to take some photographs for @urban.scout for her own post of a book she wants to review, and when they brought the coffee and croissants, I found it irresistible; I couldn't not take some photographs. Above, I also added a poem I wrote that was inspired by the whole event. I hope you enjoy the photographs below.
Postscriptum, or Delusional Croissants and Coffee Addictions
Visiting coffee shops are always a must for us coffee-addicted peoples. Having a crispy and freshly baked croissant with that coffee is just icing on top. I love to take photographs of these "intimate" moments. I know I look like a strange being when I take photographs in a coffee shop, but these "small" moments are what need to be remembered. I love writing poetry and taking photographs of the inconsequential.
I hope that you enjoyed this post and the photographs I shared with you.
Keep well, and happy photographing.
All of the photographs are my own, taken with my Nikon D3200 and 50mm Nikkor lens. The writings and poetry in this post are also my own creations albeit inspired by some lovely coffee and croissants.
