My Hive Rant Time!

If you know me i don't usually make posts like this, i prefer focusing on things that i enjoy writing and doing like movies, series, anime, traveling, generic posts with questions and my new interest, silver coins. Also, i try to post mostly positive posts regarding Hive and not just because. I genuinely think Hive is one of the top crypto platforms where everyone can earn by simply investing his/her time, something that is really really important and something that i haven't seen happening anywhere with a few expectations that can't even compete with Hive.

Because of that though, i kind of feel sad and a bit frustrated when i see for example BTC keep on rising and even though Hive did so at first, it ended with more of a dump than a pump. First of all the rhythm in which BTC and Hive are pumping is different. At first, time was mostly similar but then a decline occurred. If it had continued with the same rhythm when the BTC pump occurred Hive would be around 40-45 cents now i think, but we are at 32.5-33 cents currently.

Hive is around 250-260 place in the total ranking while at some point even reaching the top 10-20 if i remember correctly. Besides that, my frustration also comes from the DHF. We've come a long way especially those of us who have been here since STEEM days, we decided to move on to Hive because of the manipulation and centralization of Steemit. Ned, Justin along with others were a people that only cared for his pockets and not something bigger than that.

Hive in my opinion is a better place than Steemit by far and many people thrived here and also built their Dapps. Btw we want more of them. Now my understanding regarding the DHF is that it should be a system that gives the opportunity to people to get help with their ideas in terms of funding. They make a proposal about their idea and based on the number of upvotes they get they may receive that funding for a set amount of time, i think 1 year. Basically, the funds are 10% of the annual Hive supply each year and this amount goes to the "approved" proposals.

Now here is where my problem lies. The idea of what these proposals should be is that they should bring Hive some value which ofc seems great and i totally agree with this. Now even though i am not a tech guy, i can understand some economics and i can also understand the market in terms of salaries.

I just looked a couple of these proposals and to my surprise, they basically offer nothing to Hive while at the same time, some people earn tons of money. I read proposals mentioning a daily pay of 140-200-300-400-500. We are talking about thousands of dollars that are directed to people who basically offer nothing. Nothing that will bring new people, nothing that will make Hive a better place, they are simply making fun of us.

Also, in the vast majority of the proposals, there are mostly generic information that actually doesn't provide any benefit for Hive. No info or statistics on the added benefits of Hive. It's basically like "Hi i am here, give me some money, to make something that trust me will help Hive" and so on. I think at the very least everything should be detailed as hell, with actual examples, and forecasts that highlight the expected benefits for Hive.

But that shouldn't stop here. If a proposal passes by the end of the year or their "term" let's say, another post should be made highlighting whether they accomplished what they stated at first. This is important as this isn't charity it should be considered as a form of investment. We the community are the investors and each proposal along with the team behind it should show what is necessary for a team that is seeking funding.

At the same, some proposals are simply projects and others are services. For example "i am a developer i can help maintain or build something, therefore i am providing a service" and he/she should show to us why we should basically hire him. If we are talking about a proposal that is basically a project, the project owner shouldn't just seek funding in exchange for a project that would help Hive. The project owner or team should also find ways that they can earn money from their projects long-term.

Once again, DHF should be considered as a form of funding with investors and such. Nobody wants to simply pay and pay for a project that after a point doesn't generate any income. Hive cannot provide an infinite amount of funds anyway, thus most proposals that are looking to stay long-term should also find ways to become self-sufficient, something that from what i saw doesn't happen.

In conclusion, i strongly believe that Hive is quite a unique place but some people are once again trying to take advantage of it. The DHF is a good idea if you ask me but needs some improvements cause the way it is now people can take advantage of it and already do, taking thousands or even millions of dollars for themselves instead of benefiting the community! That was my rant, i will be back to my usual schedule from tomorrow or the day after!
